Bought a used 2010 Blast w/ 224 miles on it from a local HD dealer. Before accepting delivery I had it re-jetted, new K&N intake filter put on and changed out the exhaust to a Jardine system (?) in order to increase the horse power. Practicing in a parking lot the bike seemed fine - out on Santa Cruz back roads it sputters out and dies seems particularly sensitive in 3rd and over(?) when I open the throttle. Have only had it out on 2 nice rides, the first time the bike died no less than 10 times w/in a 1-2 hour ride, freaky for a new rider. HD will pick up the bike and it is under warranty however the weather is good - I want to be out in it, is this a big deal? Is it an easy/quick fix or is this a Blast issue that hangs on thru the life of the bike? |

The best thing for you would be if the tank vent line was a little crimped. I have seen that cause similar problems on several different bikes. Good luck. |

Ah, fingers crossed it is that easy. Afraid I am less than mechanical and appreciate the advice! |

Do the 10 blasts still have the 2 year unlimited mileage warranty? The easy fix might be a trip back to the dealer , could be a restriction in the carb , miss adjusted float possible, sounds like a fuel delivery issue. Check the vent first I had mine pinched under the tank cover once only caused problems at sustained wide open throttle But went away off the freeway. Good luck and enjoy your bike. |
