The sun is out! I am at Peet's in Berkeley. I have a perfect view of some trash bins and bus stop on Telegraph Avenue. Man, I am glad I am not dumpster diving, or playing a guitar across the street. I got everything on the bike this morning and it is a total cluster! I am stumped at the moment for what to do about it. Only two changes of clothes and way way way too much stuff. Had a great dinner last night at Christine and Terry's with Becky and Jim. All in all a good day so far. Road around Berkeley a bit. Road Thing, I am looking at a week here and three days enroute to the Slaughters'. Maybe take three days there, then would like to hit Joshua Tree and Big Bend for a few nights each maybe. I will give you a call in a day or two. |

35 to 121 to 128 to Winters - pick any of their main street inns to dine at, then enjoy the ride back as well. 37 down to Alice for lunch, then back up La Honda to the coast on 1, go North cut through Golden Gate Park and hit the Haight for evening fun. I'm sure Terry and Jim can name some other fun rides as well - the Bay area is endless with good roads. EZ |

Well - it is definitely ON for this friday! Celebrating women in LONG DISTANCE riding at Taylor Made Racing in Van Nuys http://www.racetaylormade.com Danielle Hebert (17,000 miles so far into her moto-musical trip) and Melanie Doerman (round the USA last year on her Triumph) will be there along with other friends, fellow riders and others. This was instigated by Charlotte and music will be provided by Danielle Hebert and Forrest Robinson (percussion/vocals/keyboard) Food to be provided by Paul Taylor at Taylormade - but you GOTTA send him a note so he knows how many to order for and how many chairs to set up. Danielle is a world-class composer/arranger/musician and heard from us about Char's big adventure and we all just kinda/sorta made this happen! BE THERE!! |

Okay. I am officially jealous of your trip now. Been TOO long since I went to Point Reyes, and Point Reyes Station. Did / Are you going to the light house? You really, really should. I used to drive from Sacramento to the light house. I'd go at night, walking past the ranger station, and getting as close to the light house as I could. One of the most beautiful things I've seen is being there on a clear night. The waves crashing against the cliff, and bright stars out. Simply awesome. Great place to meditate for a few minutes or so. Donner Summit away from the lights is also good. Have Fun! |

OK boys and girls, The story evolves. Cut/paste from my post on our Racing BBS:
quote:Since mostly I'm paying retail, except for Antelope Valley Buell, I can't even pretend to be sponsored - SO... I am SPONSORING a performing musician in her US Tour - Danielle Hebert. Inspired by a friend (Charlotte Dawn's) decision to start a moto-tour of the US, we are working a celebratory gig-of-sorts this Friday the 21st at Taylor Made Racing in Van Nuys. Danielle will provide her music, accompanied by Forrest Robinson (Percussion, vocals, keyboard) This is inspired by Charlotte Dawn's recent start on her US Tour and enouraged by Danielle's 17,000 mile (so far) moto-musical journey, Melanie Doerman's round-the-USA on her Triumph last year. Charlotte Dawn just lost her job in Madison - and instead of moping, she simply decided to RIDE for a month (or so) so this in a way, is a celebration of women in motorcycling and motorcycling in general. Danielle's music is a mix of styles ranging from folkesy to flat-out rocking music and she ONLY does her own music. In fact the last time she "covered" another artists' work was when she sang the Canadian national anthem at the torch lighting ceremony at last February's Vancouver Winter Olympics... but I digress. http://www.daniellehebert.com or on Facebook Some Music samples at http://www.reverbnation.com/daniellehebert Paul Taylor is springing for dinner and requested a head-count so he can order food and set up chairs. You can let him know if you or any others might make it. Phone: 818.781.8123(Mobile) Website: http://www.racetaylormade.com email: paul.taylor@racetaylormade.com Apologies for short notice but this was set up with no real planning, it has just evolved from Danielle saying we should all meet Charlotte for her LA stop on her ride - now to Paul Taylor getting enthused about making a small concert just HAPPEN. Hope you might make it. Invite those who you think may enjoy a somewhat laid-back evening of music and moto-socializing.
