so i don't really spend much time at idle if i can avoid it so i didn't notice what was going on at first. my tach is reading about 1k rpm low. 08R with an 09R cluster. bike is otherwise stock except for HID headlights which are plug and play i.e. harness is unmolested. ideas? |

Mine will idle around there on really hot days. Did you check your voltage? |

yours will idle at 250-500rpm? the tach is reading 1k low at all times. idle is showing 250-500 6th gear at 80mph is showing 4k etc the soft redline is showing at around 3k the actual redline is showing at 9k |

You never said yours was idling at 250-500. You said 1k. yeah sounds like a cluster issue. Take it to the dealer. |

Ok, i mis-understood what you meant. Its 1k lower then normal. Yeah sounds like a cluster issue. |

hmm. the shift ligth is a bused message to the cluster. i would think that if it was a needle problem, that the light would still come at the correct engine rpm still. shift light comes on at 5000 rpms in nuetral. if the needle was "off" i would expect to see that your light would come on in nuertal at 4000 rpms acording to your cluster. |
