I rode my 1125R last weekend and it said 35 degrees Ambient Temp. The bike sat inside a garage that was probably 50 degrees. It started right up and ran fine, idled normal, cruising at 55-65 the Coolant Temp read 165-170. CT of 170 is usually ideal for maximum power production on most liquid cooled engines. I know my Corvette runs best at that temp. It can go all the way to 220 idling in hot traffic. CT of 220 is ideal for emissions and most modern liquid cooled engines are smog tested at that temperature for that very same reason. |

Coldest I've rode in was 16F, 18F the two days prior, and 20s the surrounding days... I was commuting 35 miles each direction to/from work. I was fine except my fingertips from insufficient gloves and the tip of my nose (due to having to keep the visor cracked to avoid fogging up). I bought some heated gloves and a different helmet after that. |

I bought a Scorpion EXO 1000 helmet last Saturday. It has a flip down sunvisor that was supposed to be treated for antifog on both sides. It fogged so badly in the 37 degree weather I couldn't see through it at all. I Emailed customer service and they sent me a new visor. It doesn't fog at all! A friend told me Scorpion's customer service was great, and he was right. |

19°F is my personal best lowest. As long as the heated gear works I can keep on going |

I think it was about 15F last Feb or March when I took my 1125R out for a spin. That was the coldest for sure. Not the most enjoyable, but it was still nice to ride. |

I maabged a lovely 500 mile round trip yesterday but it was a pretty balmy 9C (48F) so it was actually very comfortable |

OK well that was a first... Today was the first day I've had to (a) scrape ice off the seat before getting on and (b)scrape ice off the throttle and left grip before riding and (c) "crack" the throttle to break the ice to accelerate (slowly).. Boy was the back end a bit frisky on the straights, the back spins up lovely when you want it to! Weird 'cause it's still 24F out so I wasn't expecting it to be so bitterly cold! |

Had a 300 mile round trip in 34F clear weather. Bike has lots of get up and go. |

well, I have been riding my 1125R to and from work and whenever the temp is below 35 F, I get a fuel pressure warning, as well as fuel and engine lights then they go out after a while. The other night it was 23 F, when I left work and the ignition lock was frozen and I couldn't turn it until I poured warm water down it to thaw it. Other than those two minor inconveniences, the bike has performed flawlessly. |

I get the same fuel/engine thingy when cold. I've been ignoring it. It was in the low 30's the other day, but with the Gerbings (jacket liner and gloves) and a head bag, it's no issue. I wear the Gerbing overpants, but never plug them in. If I had to go over 30 miles, I might, but there is likely enough engine heat to overcome anything down to 30F. I've ridden when it was 24F, and the helmet fogging is the biggest issue. The new Shark Modular works pretty well, but I put contacts in when it's cold. The glasses always fog up, even when freshly zooked. |

I've just got back from the first bike rally of the season, the OGRI MCC "Kickstart" rally. A weekend of camping on an (active) airfield. It was a bit chilly overnight in the tent, and my poor baby had a heavy layer of frost on it in the morning but fired up and ran faultlessly. It was 17F in the tent overnight but "warmed up" to 37F for the Saturday ride out. YAY - biking season has started again :-) |

i haven't had a "too cold" to ride yet. i've done sleet and snow(with a HUGE smile on my face), left the house at 18 degrees F. the only reason i don't ride right now in the cold weather is i am not cleared by my docs to ride yet. he keeps telling me about some major back surgey i had. |

The Fuel & Engine light on until warmed up to 165F+ operating temperature when ambient temperature less than 40F is a known issue. The "fix" is to replace the Instrument Cluster if its software version is less than 6.1 and if that doesn't work, replace the thermistor which is part of the fuel pump assembly. I had both done as the ambient temperatures were increasing which seemed to have resolved the issue... Until the temperatures dropped again and the issue again appeared. It causes no harm and can safely be ignored. The only code which should be thrown as a result is b1005.

OMG I thought you had 61k miles on her. My jaw dropped until I saw that was a code! |

Yep, at that time I had over 62K miles. This was taken on 1/1/2011: Unfortunately, I haven't put many more miles on since (maybe 200) due to various factors, but mostly because I couldn't afford the required valve shim maintenance & timing chains/guides/tensioner replacement until recently. She's in the shop now and I'm hoping to be able to ride her again soon! |
