Are these the only type worth purchasing?

I just can't get a handle on the shipping costs. When I went to the website and went through the purchasing process, I noticed that the price to ship was more than the price of the stacks. Unless I misunderstood what I was reading anyway.

Father-of-an-era. I don't know of any other velocity stacks available for purchase. When you order, choose TNT as the shipper. It will cost aprox. 20 euros. I highly recommend these stacks. They give a very noticable power boost.

TNT is another freight forwarder, they deliver globally and have various options on the speed of delivery depending on cost. Twinmotorcycles use DHL and TNT, DHL is a higher cost and usually takes three days, the TNT option they use is a fraction of the cost, somewhere between a quater and a third but takes a little longer, about 10 days. If ur in no rush go with TNT. I would like to add that I have dealt with Martin at twinmotorcyles who is extremely helpfull, knowledgeable and enthusiastic when it comes to Buell's, if only the rest of the so called dealers were like Twinmotorcycles and Erik Buell Racing we would'nt have anything to whinge about and our bikes would always be on the road rather that sitting in dealerships waiting for parts.
} I too have an order in for the intake stacks that should arrive in a few more days..from what i've read and heard they are deffinatley worth the wait:-)

Yep, The power to money ratio is very good.

You all be aware that the security to the USA has been changed and every package we send will ber openend en checked, so we experience longer delivery times at the moment for parts.

At the moment all shipping to the USA is 20 euro doesn't matter what you buy, if not please mail me at dris@twinmotorcycles.nl

So you need to add a fueler if you use these stacks, right?

Easy Rider is speaking the truth about shipping problems. My best friend has been waiting TWO MONTHS for his stacks that were held up in customs for a long time and are now sitting in a post office in Georgia I believe it is. Twin Motorcycles has opened up an investigation as to what the problem is and why they won't ship the item to my friend (the receiver has no ability to do so only the shipper can). The United States Post Office seems to be in no hurry to resolve the problem. If your going to buy a set of these I would suggest Fed X or UPS only.

Daniii:

I asked the same question to the guy's at TM over the phone before ordering the stacks, no fueling required as the initial tests for the stacks were carried out on a stock bike, stock pipe,ECM and filter. However as stated on their site they recomend "a map" to get the optimum out of them.. A completely stock bike will still benefit from these stacks...

Puzzled,

our 180 HP kit, is made with stock heads, no porting (-: we only change the valves, pistons, cams, our new developed Torque Hammer reverso exhaust and intake stacks.

And it is in development..

I would recommend buying with your credit card so your purchase price can be refunded to you in the event of more shipping problems. My initial order was ALSO sent back to me because of problems with the bar code. The second time worked fine and arrived in two weeks but that was before the terrorist attacks on frieght. My friend is still waiting for his with no end in sight to the wait. Personally, I think TM should send him another set and recall the first set back. Sorry Dris, but this is BS.

Are you running stock length/size valves? What about the springs, are you changing them? With the pistons, stock bore increased compression?}

With decked heads, timed cams, exhaust and fueling, my race bike is right at 150 RWHP on pump gas.

Scares the piss out of me it's so fast.

Well Easyrider... I'm the guy waiting 2 months for mine. You have my money, I have nothing, not even a simple sales receipt. I can tell you for certain, it's not the security level. Yes, it took 3 weeks to clear customs, but then it went to a city 1,400 miles away from me, where it has sat, undeliverable, since Dec 23rd. I have asked your colleague Martin on 3 separate occasions to provide me the case number of the Post Office missing package investigation he said he opened, but I have yet to hear back from him. This is not a security level problem. It appears to be a label problem on the box as 1) the item ended up in Atlanta, and 2) they have no idea where to send it. Even Tutt's box was returned to you before it reached him... seems like a problem with simple parcel addressing on the shipping end.

Next, $27 to ship two tiny pieces of Aluminum is not "cheap", especially considering the ground shipping method. That comment is not helpful at all in this case, especially considering that DHL does not even guarantee US delivery times anymore. DHL does not even service all US areas anymore either.

And lastly, you are correct, we are all entitled to our opinion. Here's mine: I've asked for help nicely 3 times. If that package is not moving from Atlanta to me by the end of this week (3 days), I will initiate Charge Back proceedings with my bank. You can take the "happy customer" issue up with them. Like I said, I don't even have a receipt yet. That is unsatisfactory sir.

Hopefully you will do the right thing here, because I really would like those stacks. For for $168, it is no longer worth the hassle, the no receipt, and the no help.

I confess I'm a little skeptical of this hot rod kit. As a general rule of thumb, the only way to make more HP on the same displacment is to move the torque curve higher up the powerband. With very careful porting/polishing and juggling valve sizes you can mimic a displacement increase because of better air flow, but the larger the valves and ports, the worse the air flow at low lift and low rpm. As to cam timing, the later the intake valve closing, the more you move the powerband up and need more compression to compensate. There are no "free lunches" here, only trade-offs between what type of performance and where in the powerband you want it. I'm sure the TM engine will be a great drag bike or race bike, but with those very high claimed HP increases, I suspect the trade-off will be some of the mid-range thrust (5-7K) that makes a Buell a Buell and such a great street motor.

We'll see what happens. At this point, I'm done. I do enough e-commerce to know that a package can get lost, but not just plain stuck 1,400 miles away. Something is wrong with that label. And I, as the recipient, cannot do anything about it other than choke down the "cheap" cost of the "shipping". Bologna.

Hey Trider, you left out this part of the communication:

"Hi ####,

Recieved the web page request yesterday,

And have made the inquiry with tnt as they are the shipper,

They need to get back to me,

Sorry I did not let you know,

Below, you find the email from me to TNT asking to start up the search procedure

I have asked theme for a reference number what I can mail you.

Be advised this can take up to 12 to 16 weeks"

When Tim Barker had a problem with an over-seas customer he fast shipped a replacement muffler from the US in no time to make it right. Instead, we get blamed for wanting "cheap shipping".

Sheesh.

But hey, this is only "my opinion" too.

Hey, anyone want to buy an engine kit for 1k and have it get stuck in customs and some post office 1400 miles from your home for an indefinate period of time while the shipper has your money? Wouldn't that be fun????

-Tutt

12 to 16 weeks for TNT/DHL is apparently what they consider "service" for us here in America. You can read more about the problems with using DHL in America here: http://www.usatoday.com/money/economy/2008-11-10-d hl-cuts_N.htm

Unfortunately, I have experienced DHL's service once. That was enough for me.

I'm not going to wait 12-16 weeks. If that's what it takes, refund my money and bill me when I get it. I'm already on 8 weeks and running fast out of patience.
