Damnut posted a link to his ebay auction (an extra poster he had laying around), Court made a reply (nothing negative). Damnut didn't like this reply, he felt it was counter productive to his sale, then both parties removed all the content of their posts. While I didn't look, I'm sure you can still find it on ebay if you search for "Buell poster", can't be too many for sale from MA.  | ||

interesting. i think its cool for court to put out cool buell stuff. especially being around for so long (i didnt call you old) i collect any and oddball buell advertizing stuff. i keep any buell memorabilia even part installation instructions... i have manuals for bikes i dont even own. ive got a folder full of em. along with old catalogs BATTLE2WIN and fuell magazine as well as buell mags and write ups. anything buell... anyway, i would be interested in buying some swag to get more swag. nice concept and good looking out court. Fun stuff . . .before Fuell of course there was "The Road Ahead" magazine for a couple years and . . back, geesh 20 some years ago. . it was "The Tailpipe". I actually started tossing crap. . . I ended up with cases of literature, a box of service manuals from RR-1200s and all manner of crud. My wife finally prevailed. She found a guy in her office who used to own an M2 and took a new, never been worn shirt from the M2 Cyclone roll out in 1997. I put a bunch on e-bay a while back and not one nibble. . she won and has started loading stuff in black bags. The posters I'd never sell. I tried selling my personal one in the first clean out attempt and it was too damn much work. I just ordered 100 poster tubes and have been sending them to folks who bought stuff from Erik Buell Racing. I've been tossing in a couple extra posters with each order. Some of the lore surrounding the posters is the most fun. . . when HD showed up at Buell in 1995 some of them were kind of stinkers . . one day one of them saw the stack of left over "Passion" posters (the famous one with the red RS-1200) and told me "get rid of those" . . I did. Ditto the 1998 Buell Race of Champions. Afterward I was told to "get rid of all that crap" . . again, I followed instructions and have S3 bag liners here full of the Buell/Snap-On gap gauges. Same thing after the 25th. HD wanted nothing to do with the posters. My fear is that the folks from Hoarders is going to show up here. If they do . . I'm sending them to Colorado where I've got the 30 cases of bodywork stuff in a barn in Berthoud. | ||

The red passion poster... I saw one on ebay about the same time Court mentioned he had some a couple years back. I tried to offer to buy one from him for what it sold on ebay, thinking I wouldn't drive up the cost on a Bueller and would still get an object of lust. True to his word, he didn't sell. I got a little worried when the ebay item went for ~$75. Now I wish I'd bid, especially now that the stash is gone!! | ||

Somewhere . . and I confess I've no clue where . . there's a stash of the Passion posters hiding here. I think, all told, there are over 60 different posters. My personal favorite, and perhaps one with the best story is the "Take one for a test prowl" from the S1WL launch in Australia. It was designed (yes, booze played a role) in a bar in Brookfield, WI by a gal who'd never even seen a Buell. Old pal from Merrill Lynch who's fellow stockbroker said to hell with it and went to work for HD . . still a HD exec. There were, at one time, a handful of knock off passion posters on e-bay. Another great poster was the S2 that the vendor did . . . pretty awesome. Fun stuff ! | ||
