Can anyone advise here ? I bought an ecu for "standard exhaust with cat" After I bought it someone was told EB dont do a spec for "cat exhaust" EB had told me to wait as they were going to do one and I only bought it after they confirmed they now do a "cat "spec. Following this I contacted EB and was told that my ecu was for a "non cat" Eb asked to return the ecu or tell them the code off the ecu and that was M3SPB072. I have now seen an ecu on ebay and it is listed as for a race pipe,but it has exactly the same number on it as mine ! So,can anyone say for sure what my M3SPB072 is spec for ? | ||

Where is that code written? Looking at my stock ECM (Euro (Cat equippedd) ECM) the part number is Y0152.1AM 08171 Looking at the Erik Buell Racing site all the parts start Y01** etc.. | ||

Hi Stirz007,If thats correct then they have sent the wrong one, then told a little fib ! My bike was much nicer to ride with the ecu and the original "cat" exhaust.When they told me it was for a "non cat" standard exhaust I managed to find a "non cat" exhaust and have fitted that now,it runs slightly better. I guess I will be looking for a "race type" exhaust now ! aaarrrhhhhhhhh!!!!!!! | ||

You can run the race ECM with a stock pipe (as you already know 'cause you're doing just that now). I ran mine (cat fitted) for a few months and it did no real harm (well, I'll admit I don't know if it damaged the cat or not) but it ought to be fine now you have a non-cat pipe fitted... | ||

Yes Jules, now I seem to have an ecu for a race type exhaust I suppose I could mod my non cat exhaust for a bit less back pressure and a bit more noise. | ||

Colin - Not sure who did what, so I won't go there - that chip code is what I have for 2008 1125R, Pump Gas, EeeBeeArrr Race Exhaust. They have changed their offerings since I bought mine in early 2010, but I think this is the current equivalent (Check with M. Richter to make sure): http://www.EBRacing.com/shop/product44.html Also keep in mind you will see some immediate differences, but it needs some 'break-in' to really dial in (for example, A/F will adjust to altitude, etc.,) | ||

I did buy my ecu in june 2010 and it was before they listed the spec for cat std exhaust or non cat standard exhaust,but after they told me it was available.I made it very clear on my order what I wanted. I guess I could send it back for them to check. I have a wideband controller etc I might fit that and see what afr I am getting. Whats annoying is not being sure what spec I have. | ||

Send it back. They will make it right. Put in a note that is CLEAR - your posts are a little hard to follow. Just a list format will work: Year Model Exhaust parts Don't tell a story. Just list. Send them your number too, in case they want to call to clarify. They will make it right. They're kinda "like that" - they're all good folks. | ||

Just a mention to all of you.....I run a Erik Buell Racing pump race ecm on my 1125R. It was originally for my Torque Hammer but in the summer I was going on a 2000 mile ride so I refitted the std Cat exhaust (Europe)..........it runs great.......so good I have not refitted the TH and now have 12000 miles on the bike 4000 on the Cat muffler. Just thought you guys might want this input. Also my brother bought an Erik Buell Racing ECM back in early March 2010 and he specified that he had a std cat exhaust and he was shipped a pump race ecm without further discussion....so as far as I am concerned this has been an option for nearly a year. Remember that 'Pump'gas in California may be a mix with ethanol which is not how we have it in Europe.....just another thought!
