Starlane does, but I don't know if it supports out bikes. Of course, there's always the 09 cluster... |

Tell your dealership the speedo is cutting out and that its a cluster problem. If you can get them to replace it/upgrade to 09 you will have the gear indicator for free. |

Yup. My '08 has the '09 cluster and I got the gear indicator--very nice to have. |

I have the 09 cluster and honestly I should have went with an aftermarket indicator (I purchased mine). While the 09 has the gear indicator it is coupled with ambient air temp. The abilty to toggle which two readings are visible would be nice. The 09 bikes would be nice to show voltage and gear indicator. With the 08 I'd like the gear indicator and coolant temp. |

If you pull the clutch switch wire, you can observe some funny behavior from the 09 indicator. Roll down pit lane about 20 mph. Pull the clutch in. It will show 6th. Blip the throttle, watch it roll through the gears! |

Puzzled i would love to be able to choose my own combos on the bottom display Ain't happenin'. I've talked to Erik Buell Racing about this very topic and right from the man's mouth...it can't be altered. It's in the cluster, not the ECM, and the cluster/ECM are a CANbus system of bidirectional data. So unless someone wants to work on hacking Magnetti-Marelli code.... |

I believe GiPro do a gear indicator for the 1125, I am not sure if it's a specific fitment or one of their universal ones but I did have one on my TL1000S and it also allowed you to alter the fuel map (sort of) by feeding back to the ECM that you were in 5th instead of 6th (or 3rd or 4th) as some Suzuki's have a timing retard in 6th (Hayabusa in particular). That particular functionality doesn't sound useful on the Buell but the Gear indicator itself was top notch. |

If you pull the clutch switch wire, you can observe some funny behavior from the 09 indicator. Since the bike calculates the gear based on RPM-vs-speed the bike needs to know that the clutch is pulled in to ignore the calculation. You can get the same reaction when you slightly pull in the clutch. |

Well it would be COOL if some enterprising E.E. could figure out a way to give us more control of the various screens at any given time -- not new functionality per se, but rather, customizable combinations of display info different from what is stock. I'd like to have one that showed ambient temp and core temp. I'd like to have another that showed Charging voltage and distance from nearest In/Out Burger. Etc.

I have a GiPro gear indicator on one of my motorcycles, specific for the model...A bit pricey in my opinion for new, so I searched, found, and purchased used...It works really well, very visible, and certainly useful in my opinion. |
