Petebueller, I understand that you probably have to swim out to your bike with all that flooding. |

Thanks again, everyone... The chief characteristic about my affliction is one that I've never encountered before: an overwhelming feeling of FATIGUE. Just getting up from a chair is a real test of my will. And I've always been a reasonably active person. The fatigue seems to be my only remaining symptom. Luckily Mrs. Greg is around to help me out. The "warmer" temps here next week look to be mid-30s. Not warm enough for me! Say Bartimus, how about cranking up the thermostat a little... However, winter is definitely the best time to be down like this, so I'll try to look on the "bright" side. Thanks again for the encouragement; it means a lot. --Doc |

So Doc, you've already replaced your Duc? I must have missed that. Did you get another one just like it? |

I'm not in any of the flood affected areas Electroglide. Some friends have gone to help with the relief but I'm back at work tomorrow. The weather is cruel. We have just come through years of severe drought, watched the rains come and make everything grow and then someone turns the tap on too hard and everything growing in the breadbasket areas gets washed away. You have to have a strong mentality to work the land. |

Yup, Dyna...he got another red one (hey jealousy...). Best wishes, Doc...we'll do the riding for you until you're back in the saddle. I'll post some grim East Coast winter scenes tomorrow...finally not snowy, not sub-freezing here! Our friends help us - for better or for worse - by plowing new ground and showing us what might be in the way. Thanks for helping us remind each other how important our health is! Sort of like when you take a risk on your bike and say, "man, that was dumb...if I weren't so lucky there, I wouldn't get to ride into my old age!" Keep in touch... |

So Doc, you've already replaced your Duc? I must have missed that. Did you get another one just like it? Yup. Dealer had a "black Friday" sale over Thanksgiving where all 2010 bikes on the floor were $500 over invoice. And they just happened to have "my" bike on the floor (had to be red since it had to match the top case, which was not attached at time of crash). So here are my two road bikes: All set for 2011...just gotta get healthy again. --Doc |

Oh, and glad you were able to replace your Duc. I hope you are feeling stronger every day. Take it a day at a time and take care of yourself. I hope we have another homecoming this year and I hope I can make it again. It would be nice to meet you there. |

Hey Doc! A good shot-peening is great for dealing with fatigue. Please explain. Not being a con-rod myself I'm a little confused. Is that a unicycle? Yes, indeed. Ridden by #1 son while he was living in Japan. Don't worry, you won't catch me on it. Oh, and glad you were able to replace your Duc. Moi aussi. I hope you are feeling stronger every day. Take it a day at a time and take care of yourself. I hope we have another homecoming this year and I hope I can make it again. It would be nice to meet you there. I think I am. And yes---if it exists---I certainly intend to ride to the HC. Gotta meet some of you folks. Hey Doc...just reading again about Valley Fever from the dirt in the SW. Symptoms sound like what you have. Did you check that out? Oh crap. I know about histoplasmosis from soil in the Ohio River valley (Mrs. Greg said "don't go barefoot there" [on my trip] but I did anyway). Jeez, I never thought of that. Better tell the doc. Re this "Valley Fever"...I'll look at that as well. Thanks! --Doc |

Rent this movie. "Outlander"... Hey, EG, just got the DVD for "Outlander" from Netflix today. Gonna watch it tonight; I'll give you my report tomorrow. Again, thanks for the recommendation. --Doc |

Doc, Be interesting to read your critique of that movie. Beautiful scenery and lots of action. Here's another movie to watch that we rented from Redbox a few days ago, "Easy A" starring Emma Stone. A lot like the old John Hughes movies from the 80's but of course more current. Enjoyed the heck out of that movie. |

Be interesting to read your critique of that movie. Beautiful scenery and lots of action. Yes, indeed. Just my style: I'm a sucker for a "Vikings" movie, going back to the original w/Kirk Douglas, Tony Curtis, and Ernest Borgnine (Ragnar!) Beautiful scenery and lots of action: perfect. A little violent for Mrs. Greg, but she enjoyed it very much as well...it even had a "happy" ending for her. Kinda tough (for my concussed melon, anyway) to keep track of the multiple baddies at the end, but a small issue. Anyway, we enjoyed "Outlander" a lot; thanks again for the recommendation. --Doc PS. Not trying to make BB&D devolve into a movie blog... |
