Aerocharger in Kansas City, or Rotrex from Hillbilly Motors in Germany. |

Kit for X-1,pretty sure one was never offered, the early tubers had an Aerocharger kit,but not the F.I. ones. Easy enough to build your own,but need to be able to fuel it. |

Fireman, my friend's X1 was turned into carb, not anymore fuel injected. so Aerocharger should be the way to go? |

Aerocharger is back in business, for big twins and Victories, etc. I know of a '99 X1 in Canada w/ fuel injection and one that works, but it took the guy some figuring. |

The allure of the Aerocharger was becuase of the variable vane you did not need a wastegate as boost was maintained by varying the vanes in turbo and the were self contained oiling so no needed oil lines. But they are complex and expensive. Any ball bearing turbo will work when sized to the application--Buells need the BB turbo because of oil pressure related to them being a BB motor-- so, a decent turbo off E-bay, an inexpensive blow-off valve and wastegate, some welding and oil lines you are in business. Whether carbed or injected you will need a boost referenced fuel pressure regulator to increase fuel pressure in reltion to boost---the Aerocharger kits came with one---Aeromotive make good priced one. Buell oiling system works well as you can tie drain from turbo into scavenge side of pump. Aerocharger used both the CV carb and Mikunis in their kits, mine had Mikuni and worked very well. Mik came with special needle/seat set-up for pressure from electric pump and was sealed with extra boost port. |
