Probably the most cost effective method of lightening the bike is to lighten the rider. Of course, that works better for some of us than others.... |

I keep coming back to this thread to look at Court's pix. Titanium porn. I have a few pieces of half inch by 4 ft rod-stock. I made quick release seat studs from it on my bench lathe. Tough stuff to turn, but fun. When you're done, put a little gunpowder in the shavings and light it. Titanium is a flammable metal like Magnesium. In fact, Mg shavings make the Ti light faster. Z |

I like Puzzled's shop porn pic. I think the EB R tail section is a good one. Lighter tires sounds good too. Also, I have shed about 15 lbs. from my arse this winter, if I lose another 15 my Buell will handle like a GP bike next spring. |

I worked on the fairing stay a little today. It weighed in at 2 pounds 10 ounces and I was able to cut a pound off easily.

License plate? What's that? Race bikes don't have license plates. I just picked up some race bodywork, wow is it light weight. I'll get some pictures comparing the two along with some weights. (Message edited by puzzled on December 30, 2010) |

> I just picked up some race bodywork, wow is it light weight. Yea. A good paint job seems like it weighs as much as the glass. |
