I missed the numbers, Squid. If you get a minute I'd appreciate seeing them. How many XT's, in total, were made? I LOVE my XT! Buell did a heck of a job. Thanks. |

And they're as current as can be...since production ceased over a year ago now. There's also a poster around somewhere...every model, most individual years, good pics, specs, and build numbers. |

There are LOTS of posters around with that info . . . In fact . . I'm thinking about starting to give them away to anyone who makes a $100 purchase from Erik Buell Racing in January. Would that work? Haven't decided . . but there are 1,000 here and . . .as they say. . . "they gotta go!" |

The poster is the most current. A good deal of research, following the closing of Buell, went into getting the numbers rounded up. The poster was made to be given to 50 dealers at a meeting. And . . . . I've received a very nice request from a person who purchased in December . . . so, yes . . if you made a $100 purchase from ERIK BUELL RACING in December . . sure . . I'll send you a poster. What the heck . .it's CHRISTMAS . . . I'll send you two posters. |

Court a get ready for Daytona poster sale and or tie in with Erik Buell Racing purchases would be great. As for your stash of buell swag I think Vickie should be in charge of sales. Two reasons help out Erik Buell Racing's efforts and she wants her house uncluttered. HMM as a old bad web lurker and tuber owner I want first dibs on the goodies. |

DAMMIT. Something *told* me I should have gotten TWO of the rotor mounting kits from Erik Buell Racing...at least that would have put me closer! (sigh) Guess I'll *have* to find something else I "need" |

Well I just bought an ECM, does that mean I will have the poster in the package? I reckon you haven't gotten to many orders from Missouri. |

Can you send me a poster even though I got my ECM and decals yesterday? I will PM my shipping details. Can't wait for Friday. Dropped the bike off at Ozark Harley Davidson, which is very Buell friendly by the way, to have ECM and K&N airfilter installed. Also doing a before and after Dyno. |

Take a thumbdrive with you; they should be able to export the charts to you as either a .pdf or a .jpg file. |

Well I didn't take a take a thumb drive, but I am not posting anything until I send an email to Erik Buell Racing and they have a chance to respond. I don't want to say anything negative until they have a chance to take care of it. |

Just to be devils' advocate (and since I also have a EB computer in my 06 Uly)...have you ridden the bike with the new ECM? Mine is so much smoother throughout the rev band, and so much more linear...I could care less if I lost five HP or gained fifty. The bike is so much more USABLE now. Look at the curves, ride the bike a while (remember, it hasn't had a chance to 'learn' yet), see what you think. |

Here is the reply from Erik Buell Racing. I have gotten better driveability and almost the same power band as DDFI II. DDFI III is a softer power delivery. This morning the front end came up pretty quick on me in a similiar situation that it never did before. I think I need a little more octane, but I am happy with it. I am keeping the stock exhaust because I don't like super loud. Nothing is more annoying than being behind an idiot with drag pipes. We checked into all the data, and with your model bike there is almost no power to be gained at all with just an ECM change. The 1HP loss you saw is run to run variation. The only regulatory reason to back power off at WOT is for noise, which Buell handled on the XB with a gear specific strategy. So unless you are making power pulls in 2nd gear and beginning the pull in a very narrow RPM range after dwelling there for several seconds, you’ll never see it in a power pull (unlikely ever hit it on the road either). Some motors (like the 1125) are knock limited and Buell had to back off of optimum power to prevent knock. The XB was not. They could run optimal spark and optimal fuel all day, and did. With as far behind in the HP war as the XB was compared to the imports, Buell never left anything on the table, they delivered the best power you could make with the OE hardware. The only thing you can gain in an XB cal with no hardware change is drivability out of corners, fuel economy and a little rider comfort. That is what is in the cal. That is why we refer to is as a “Best Drive” cal. In order to get more actual power you will need to get a race exhaust. |

How do the power curves compare? Do you have charts that you can post? While it is not surprising to see no gain in peak hp or torque when no mechanical changes were made, generally ECM changes produce much smoother power curves. Absent the EPA induced dips and wiggles. |
