I'm not seeing many options advertized that will fit a blast or M2. Accel makes a kit that you cut to length and crimp on the coil end. I'm tempted to by a V8 kit so I have the ingredients on hand to make several sets. Is everybody sticking with stock and just waiting on the dealer to order them? I need to get in the habit of keeping a spare known good set of stock ones for each bike on hand. Experience has taught me to try swapping these first when things aren't quite right. |

I recently picked up a plug wire from Auto Zone for $5 which has fixed my recent misfire and sputtering problems. The Blast would just spontaneously die, and then spring back to life. I noticed it was a short in the cable (both between the cable and plug as well as the cable and the ignition module), and the AutoZone part #15N fits perfectly and has boots on both ends. This plug is way better than the poor contact setup that comes on the stock plug. (Message edited by toniportray on December 29, 2010) |

How did they look it up in the computer? The cable might just be the same as a Ford coil to rotor cable...... MSD make some nice wires... (Message edited by crackhead on December 30, 2010) |

I just told them what I needed and he took me to the back where a bunch of cables were hanging up. May have been the most worthwhile $5 I've spent in a long time. |

Just a FYI for everyone - I went out yesterday to buy the Auto Zone 15N spark plug wire, and they no longer carry single cables and they can't order it either. I was having wire fit onto the plug fine. It would plug on & I could feel it "catch", but it would come off like it wasn't snapping on. Since I couldn't get the wire, I did the next best thing (or maybe I shoulda done this 1st anyway). I grabbed a pair of needle nose pliers, and bent the metal inside the boot so that it would fit tighter on the plug. All is good now! Actually, I had tried to squeeze it w/ regular pliers on the outside of the boot & that never worked, which is why I was just gonna get a new wire. Now I don't have to. |
