Anyone have pics of a Tuber with painted/powdercoated primary or cam cover or jugs a different color then black or raw aluminum? I think i have decided to change the color i was going to do my wheels to something a little more subtle (dark metallic grey).. and i was planning on powdercoating my primary and cam cover smooth black instead of the factory wrinkle.. and got to thinking, maybe matching the covers with the wheels may look good........ MAY... lol.... not sure yet. was just wondering if anyone had pics.... (Message edited by purpony on December 27, 2010) |

My S1 has black powder coat on the primary, timing chest, and rocker covers. There are pictures here somewhere, i think the thread is called my 90 ci buell S1 project. |

Yep, the M2, one of the best, if not best motorcycles ever made. Like said above, remind Court to tell you one of these days....I believe |

I can prove it. I first said that when Marty got done in 1996. . . it's still true today. . . . "Ask an Astronaut" |

Hey Bluzm, maybe powdercoat the pulley cover to match? Not enough blue on the right side. |

Naa, just enough blue. It looks different in person. You can see the oil pump and the oil lines. They are braided SS now. I didn't want too much color just enough to leave you wanting more...... The bugger will be back on the road this spring. It's gonna be my redheaded mistress. New crank, XB jugs, XB9 pistons, XB heads, X1 cams, new ignition and a race header. It should be fun! It's been a couple of years since I rode it.. I kind of miss it! |

this is the color i am thinking of doing my primary and cam cover/billet front pulley cover. Just powdercoated these this morning... so the wheels, handlebars, and engine covers would all match.

Should look nice. A friend did his engine cases and jugs in a titanium finish, it looked really sharp. For my own bike I like the black and put a black primary cover and painted my cam cover black after trimming it. I like the low gloss finish idea, it will be a nice alternative to the texture finish on the motors from the factory. |

thanks for the pics... im still undecided. I may just coat the spare primary I have the grey and try it. If i dont like it, just drop it in my stripper tank, bead blast and then do it black. |
