You guys who are running dedicated track bikes, did you or have you considered removing the fans? What about the oil cooler? |

Gearhead go under my 2 dragbikes and take a look I have a picture of my setup. It's a carbon fiber duct with the Buell racing cooler from Mr Henry Duga |

I can see the Air Cooled bike guys running an oil cooler at the dragstrip. As far as the liquid cooled 1125r motors they don't need to run an oil cooler for a dedicated drag bike. Fans are optional on 1125r's. Most naturally aspirated dedicated drag bikes in competition usually don't have fans but they shut down the bike at the end of the 1/4 mile and tow it back. If you want to hot lap your bike I suggest you keep your fans. I personally prefer to run fans but with a manual switch so I can control when I want them to come on. |

Thanks Lucas, Unfortunately I probably won't be able to find one of the Buell branded big oil coolers now. Any thoughts on an aftermarket piece that will work? Of course I realize there might have be be some fabrication involved... |

Gearhead maybe give Mike Richer a call at Erik Buell Racing ask him about it they may have one laying around. I know the important thing is the duct. I'll have to look in my notes at home I may have who makes the oil cooler because I remember it was someone like jagg oil coolers or something like that. |
