I tried to post this earlier and the title came out very cyptic so I will do it again. Could everyone who participated in Bonneville go to the What Bonneville topic and fill in the results? http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/4062/37218.html?1064840532 Thanks |

HobanBrother, Sorry I overlooked this post for so long. Here are the 750cc pushrod records out of the 2005 rulebook. We changed team name to "Davey Camlin #27" mainly for how it would appear in rulebook. If you look at the runs, Donny Camlin did all ther riding and is listed as D. Camlin. A-PF Yankee Engineuity Express H/D 10/04 158.665 A-PG Yankee Engineuity H/D 8/04 149.190 APS-PF Davey Camlin #27 H/D 8/03 134.628 APS-PG J. White Triumph ' 00 119.748 M-PF Davey Camlin #27 H/D 8/03 133.915 M-PG Davey Camlin #27 H/D 8/03 137.218 MPS-PF Davey Camlin #27 H/D 8/04 150.019 MPS-PG Davey Camlin #27 H/D 8/04 151.419 P-PP Pepperoni Bros. Moto Guzzi 10/04 120.248 In 2003 five of us took the three xrs' and my Buell. Competed in 7 different classes. Qualified in six classes. Set 4 records. lost one to a faster competitor. Got hammered flat by a storm. Buell was fastest production pushrod bike there. Just couldn't find traction in morning. In 2004 We were back with bigger crew. Competed in 4 classes. Qulified in three. set 3 records. Lost one to rules violation. Buell hit 153.898 on a 152 record. Had the first XR 750 over 150mph. Goodyear called and said the DT1 we run on the back isn't rated for that speed!! 2005 was worst salt in memory. Only ran Buell. Went 151. Summary, Donny now hold every 750 record we really wanted. Rules changes bans our race bikes from M class. Xr's are done racing. Bummer, but what else is going to be able to hit the speeds we put the records up to. We know how to get a couple of mph with an XR, but anyone now has to bring a production bike with a production wheelbase. Bottom line, the Davey records should hold for a good long time. There is a real quick triumph running at our MPS-PF record, but he is running an illegal wheelbase to get to 148. Racing is racing and our M-PG record set with the bike Davey died on should be good the longest. The APS record was set with the bike Donny and Davey started out with, best was a 3rd at DelMar. Thet one is real special and Donny is talking about building a real Altered class bike on Fuel to get to 170mph, 2007 maybe. Thanks again for your help and interest, means a lot to all of us. I'll get you a current record book for your collection. The Buell is still legal so we will be back after that P-PP record yet again. Paul Team Manager Davey Camlin #27 |
