Had a D&D and sold it about 2 weeks later for the same reason. Called D&D and they didn't have anything available (nor did they even want to consider trying to help). Talked to a local custom car muffler guy and D_Adams too. Only thing the car guy could suggest is making a custom core - make the center pipe smaller in diameter so that there's more space for packing and sound deadening. Only thing with that is that you should really get a custom tune done on a dyno with a Power Commander... I switched to an HMF (got a smokin' deal on it - sorry Dean!) and couldn't be happier. My mechanic just loves the sound and pretty much everyone who hears it goes gaga over it too. (Message edited by bigevildoer on December 22, 2010) |

AFAIK, there isn't a quiet insert for the d&d. I don't want to make one for it because they (d&d) are still in business. If they were no longer operational, say, like micron for instance, then it would be different. You can't buy any micron serpent pipes for an XB, so I will repair and repack those. My suggestion is to call them and ask for an insert. What I make probably won't fit anyway. |

I welded a 6 inch baffle in mine. Tames it a bit, takes the extreme out of it. That being said- I'm still not running it any longer hahaha it's still just too friggin loud |
