My bike is in a VERY small shed, and the ground is covered in snow. Hoping someone could take some pics of your shock, installed on the bike- side view, top and bottom...pretty please? Having one re-valved for racing, and the vendor wants to see the shock before agreeing he can do this. He normally only does Japanese Bikes. Much thanks. |

Just tell them it's a Showa shock. And I'd check with Erik Buell Racing first. Sounds like this vendor is not too familiar with Buells. Not real surprising of course. |

Nope, the vendor is not at all familiar with Buells. He wants to see the basic geometry of the shock, because I want to lower the bike by shortening the spring. The re-valving he is positive he can do. Puzzled: thanks, I will send that also. This is the company Mike recommended. |

Lowering by shortening the spring will make it too stiff. A good shock rebuilder can put a spacer inside limiting extension travel and then set the spring for the proper sag and preload. If it is just a little, the Erik Buell Racing race shock is adjustable in length and $650 |
