I haven't had any issues at all. Hmm. I haven't had any issues either. Bought mine from the same salesperson as you, and I know he made sure it was set up right before it went out the door and kept an eye on the prep process from crate to showroom...might could be that has something to do with it - proper setup? |

Hahahaha it's a good possibility. Honestly though it's a great bike. Hard to believe HD shut the door to open a bigger door for Erik |

They are great bikes. Every time I ride mine I change my mind about selling it. I think a XB or a sportster xr are closer what I want to ride though. I still think Buell had it right with the XB. I find I really want my low end torque. I'm almost never in the power band with the 1125. |

I haven't been on the site for a couple months and judging by going through the threads the gremlins are starting to appear. Late 09 the CR was relatively new and with the rebate came many new owners, like myself. I really do like the bike, more than I ever thought, but now seeing the issues with the clutch, stator, time for parts, etc., I now think it might be wise to get out while I can. My waterpump already died at 1k miles so I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop. I put up with bike BS before, I just don't want to go back there. Currently I've been eyeballing the new Ninja 1000, it took me by surprise when I saw it on a dealer floor a couple days ago. Its obviously more sport than tour but it has upright ergos and what I really like: factory saddle bags and a windscreen. You can put them on or take them off. To me the bike resembles the CR in looks, that I like. Another contender but off the path somewhat is the dependable DL650 VStrom. However, my emotions draw me to the Ninja 1000. I'm gonna have to think about it before pulling the trigger. Lastly the price on the 1000 is not to shabby either, about $10.5K. |

I have never traded in any vehicle as it just seems obvious you will never get the same amount out of a trade in as you would selling it privately. Yes and no. In my state (not sure if this is true in others), the value of your trade-in reduces your bottom line price and therefore reduces how much sales tax you'll owe. On a bike, that's good for a couple hundred dollars. My county has 8% sales tax, my dealer gave me $6,500 for my 2007 XB12R in 2009 with 10kmi on it. I would have had to been able to sell it for $7020 privately to just break even on the deal. Now factor in you can transfer your registration and save some coin (makes a bigger difference with cars in New York State as bikes are cheap and done annually, anyways) and the fact you elimate the headaches of having to advertise, deal with tire kickers, no shows, lowball stupid offers and just generally having to wait to sell it, and it looks like a much better option. I wouldn't have been able to sell either of the bikes I've traded in for more than the 'total' offer from the dealer... it would have at least been a long shot. Now, on my car, I figure I probably lost about $500-700 on what I could have realistically sold it for, and I know they made pretty good on the resale, but for the lack of headache with trying to sell it myself I was okay with it. |
