Been getting loads of junk mail in the post so i called the dealer in question, it's all HD related to there bikes so I'm not interested at all. Spoke to the receptionist and she said they can't help, it's to do with head office but give her my details and she would get me removed. I asked if they had any Buell stuff left there, I quote "sorry we only sell bikes and parts, I know nothing about cars" I said maybe she should ask someone else to help me, I was laughing, she hung up on me. So glad Buell has got away from HD, what a crappy, crappy company to have ever been involved with. |

Amen. I keep getting these catalogs for pirate suits and shiny baubles from H-D. They go directly to the recycling bin. |

Avalaugh - HD support is as good as the dealer. A dealer is as good as it's worst employee. There are a lot of factors in building a smoothly meshing team. I am sorry the HD dealers's in your area are doing such a poor job for you. I like my HD dealer. Having owned a 96 s1 for many years I have grown accustomed to some of the quirkiness that goes with HD. My CR makes me happy most of the time. |

I love how I called the AMA Roadside assist after my Blast ate a set of wheelbearings AMA: Ok what kind of bike is it? Me: Buell AMA: Buell? What is a Buell? Is that the brand name, like Honda? This was only a few months after Danny Eslick won the AMA DSB championship too! But back on the topic, I don't see how getting junk mail and a random rep that wasn't aware of Buell would affect your ability to get parts or warranty coverage. |

There are good guys out there, but as a whole, my vote is cast. The few that are good in the UK, dont need naming, we all know the top 4 dealers, but they are not near me, just a shame HD still has the biggest banner outside the shopfronts. I really hope in years to come i can go to a dealer with a huge blue oval hanging over the door..... Rant over |

I'm actually surprised every time I visit my dealer. They keep the oil filter in stock and have a small shelf dedicated to Buell parts. Not sure exactly what parts but they had tail lights in stock when I needed them. |

1125'ers: Found your comments interesting ... "YES", "i" also receive mail from dealer and from H-D ... Like looking at the pictures ... They do have the best weekend biker "DO RAGS" ... "i" can remember when the SPRING FORKS came in BLACK ONLY ... The pre-1949 technolgy(spring and forks) do look much better on a new bike CHROMED ... The HALF and OPEN FACE are the worst for your HEAD and BRAIN "PROTECTION" ... If you have ever slid down the road on your face you already know what "i" mean wearing a FULL FACE HELMET ... Love to look at the FORWARD CONTROLS(foot pegs)which are DANGEROUS AT ANY SPEED ... "AND" when they come with extra high handlebars, THEY LOOK SO BIKER, which are also unsafe at any speed ... Wonder when they will bring back the "UL" ENGINE(flat head and HIGHLY POLISHED) to complement the SPRING FORKS ??? oooOOOH !!!, almost forgot the GROCERY STORE SHIFT(hand shift)to complement the whole package ... On the H-D SERVI-CAR and INDIANS they could be on either side of the gas tank ... GUESS you see "i" was there to enjoy the OLD TECHNOLGY ... |

Avalaugh - dont expect to see a huge blue oval hanging over the door that says 'buell' on it, the company is shut down, erik aint going back, its dead. some people have 'bad' dealers, some have 'good' so some receptionist didnt know what buell was, big deal, im sure the parts guys or service people would. as stated, its been over year, its very likely that someone was hired since last October who isnt into bikes and just doest know. It has NO reflection on HDs part to stock parts for 7 years |

Not sure of the Harleys, but I read/was told Indians with RH shift had LH throttle so cops could shoot with their RH. The '48 Chief and '40 30-50 Scout I had both had LH shift. Found in the Philippines while I was in the US Navy, the Scout was a WW II military model and the Chief was a civilian model sold new to a Navy Lt., speedo had Km, not miles.....
Oh yeah, the '48 Chief had a set of 1950 Indian Aero-Glide front forks!! |

The INDIAN's had a sealed primary and did not leak oil like the H-D's ... H-D's had a total lost primary oiling system until 1965, when INDIAN had been out of business for 12 years ... One of the reasons INDIAN's were faster than H-D's(flat head for flat head) was they had a single fire ignition, among other things ... |

As the dealers should still be supplying Buell parts, they should be advertising the fact, so I see no reason why they should remove the Buell signs. When other brands have disappeared in the past companies still showed their support. |

The way the HARLEY-DAVIDSON "STEALER SYSTEM" works, is only DEALER's that agree'ed to be a SERVICE CENTER for BUELLs will have parts(that means if they want too) ... In order to keep their INVENTORY to a MINIMUM, THE PARTS PERSON SAYS, "WE WILL BE GLAD TO ORDER THAT FOR YOU !!!" |

The post office is almost the buggy whip industry of the 21st century. Those flat rate boxes are good though. |

If you don't want the Harley junk mail, just call Harley customer service. They will take you off the mailing list. You will also have to call the local dealer listed on the literature your getting and request to be taken off their list too. I did that right after I bought my Buell and don't receive any junk mail now. |

I love my Harley dealership, they do a GREAT job for me and I have bought a 2009 Harley Dyna, a 2009 Buell CR and even a used 2001 ATK dual sport from them. However, Harley as a corporation treats its dealers very poorly. Its crazy what they do. -Tutt |

Latus HD in the Portland suburb of Gladstone: Several years ago HD decided that the dealers had to 'go big' or go home. These guys were forced out of their low rent inner city dealership to a big new building by the freeway and business is slow. Having high overhead in a bad economy is not good. These people are extremely courteous from one end of the store to another. |

"THE WAY THE MOTOR COMPANY TREATS IT'S DEALERS" and making NON-MOTORCYCLE DEALERS(ie: car dealers/big money families), PLUS the NON-MOTORCYCLE Riding UPPER HARLEY-DAVIDSON "MANAGEMENT" helps create "SEALERSHIPS" ... The DEALER that "i" have known for 50 years was told that he could not be a BUELL Dealer until he built a NEW STORE and after all is done, 9 years later H-D Motor Company shuts down BUELL which makes you wonder just kind of business people are sinking the mother ship ??? |
