I know someone did a while back. What does it entail and how hard is it to have the cases machined to do so? Any pics? |

I have on my S2T. It was 45.00 or so for the Harley speed sensor. I will dig for some pics, and post for you. You just have to machine a hole for the sensor, then drill and tap for the machine screw which holds the sensor to the case. There is a pad on the case over the trans area. Scott |

Cool beans Scott, thanks. Post up the pics when you find them. An electronic speedo sensor would open a lot more doors for instrumentation. |

If I change the secondary gearing on my X-1 how can you compensate for the gearing change to keep the speedometer accurate? Thanks! |

Here they are, you need to machine the pad so its flat. Drill a hole for the sensor part, Drill and tap for a screw to hold it down. Scott |

My speedo was off 6 miles per hour, I looked into a box that you can buy to change that. It was pricey. You wire it in and change it up or down depending on your needs. Hope this helps. Scott |

Okay, that looks super simple compared to what I was expecting. I wonder if my old XL1200S speedo sensor still works... |

I remember someone talking about a part from a Blast that would adjust the speedometer but it didn't include any detail. |

Is this operation even possible without taking the engine out of the frame? |

Well, I guess, yes but you definitely would have to pull the trans. It would be too hard to drill and not hit the bit on the shaft, not much clearance. Plus you would need to clean out the chips of Al. I guess you can file the pad on the case flat. The sensor really seals on the o-ring in the hole. Scott |

Ok. What parts is needed to do this conversion? Thomas |
