Hey everyone, I just bought a new yellow XB9S a few weeks ago...Yellow wasn't my first choice but I feel I got a pretty good deal on it. My question is, where can I buy factory black plastic pieces for it? My goal is to make it look like a 12. I see the rims on Buell's page but the only body pieces they offer are carbon fiber and thats not really what I'm looking for. Also, what kind of performance can I expect from the Buell pro-series race kit? thanks! |

You can buy the factory black plastic pieces from the parts department at your dealer. : ) I'm not sure what they will cost but if you know a good painter you may be able to have your parts painted for less than buying new parts and selling your old pieces. |

the factory parts to switch my firebolt from blue to black run about $675 for the entire package. i would think the lightning would be quite a bit cheaper. the bad thing about a paint job is if you scratch it, the yellow can show through. |

ok, thanks. I was a little leary about having the yellow painted. Do you still have your Blue pieces? My bro is going to get a 12 but he wanted to switch it to blue...you guys could of swapped. Anyone, know of some reliable dealers that will do mail? I'm not too crazy about going with the dealer by me. |

This is where Buckinfubba and Daves chime in. We've got two sponsor dealerships on BadWeb that both do an EXCELLENT job. They are from Tilleys and Iowa H-D respectively. Either one will be more than happy to help you get black plastic for a 9S. As for the race kit, expect 3-6 more peak HP and a changed torque curve. It lights up at about 4500 and pulls real hard, but there is a hole before that that isn't there on the stock setup. The hole is noticeable but not bad, and you get used to it pretty damned quick. I like mine, but I'm considering changing the muffler when I do my cosmetic upgrades this winter. Maybe a latus, I love the way those look. Bryan |
