I have that jacket, I love it, and highly recommend it. I had a lowside in Georgia at 50mph+ and the jacket is fully intact, in fact, it barely got any road rash at all. I went down at nearly the same speed in my Bolt jacket and it did not fair nearly as well. |

Why on Earth aren't the normal "bitchers" in here talking about how this is stealing from Buell and that it's not an American product. I'm shocked!!! |

I never really understood that argument since the 1125R and CR are not solely American made motorcycles. Its great to want to buy American but it is also your choice to buy an alternative or a combo product like the 1125. |

Bought that same jacket last year on ebay from an HD shop in Wisconsin. Got mine for 205, it's a good quality and fit and worth the money. Didn't think any more were available since HD controls "Buell" brand and no more products with that logo were supposed to be manufactured. |

Ya didnt notice that its a reproduction. It looks convincing enough. but i would be skeptical that its just a regular leather jacket with some patches on it. Id find one that its actually a Buell product! |

Upon closer inspection of the pictures, you can tell its actually a really bad knock off. The pic that shows both the front and rear is a photo of the real thing. but in all the other photos you can tell its a knock off. the pegasus and Buell patches look like complete $hit. they look like they were made by a 2 year old. in which they probably actually are. run fast and far from this auction! |

Good catch Spike. I looked closer too, the real on has a strap on the wrists so you can tighten it down, and the knock-off one is just a normal sleeve end. |

It's made in Pakistan and shipped from there, or somewhere else besides Canada. Quality on Pakistan leather is usually good but I'd want to actually see it before buying. If the product isn't available, I'm not stealing from anybody so my ethics are okay with buying. However, that's not the legal definition. I also figure you're still paying to wear the same advertisement (the anti-sponsored rider) so there shouldn't be a problem. However, again, that's not the legal definition. So, my vote is no since I can't handle it before putting out money. |

My greater concern ..... Beyond the stealing of rights ..... Is the CE claim. That's scary and I very much suspect the claim is bogus. I do not know for certain in this case but, at this price point, vie seen what happened in the past. Caveat Bueller |

I purchased the Buell 98101 pants and jacket combo from an HD Dealer in Denver, CO. I ordered a few months after the announcement and paid $550 which included freight to Akron, OH. I have put about 4,600 miles on my R in this gear and have no complaints about the quality, fit & finish, and/or durability. The marketing campaign displayed on the jacket could be described as overzealous, but not unattractive. Just an FYI in case you continue to search for a real jacket. |

Oops! Thought it was the genuine Buell article....should have gone to the site. I think you can get the real thing pretty reasonably. Would do that instead. |

Coincidentally, the RCMP started a campaign today to stop knock-offs. The main message was the safety issues. They urge rights holders to challenge the sales. Trev Deeley better get on it. Point made above: there are still some legit ones around at close to the same price. Or put in real Joe Rocket pads. |

Oooh, and this one is a Buell jacket by Alpinestar, apparently. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Buell-Leather-Motor cycle-Jacket_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZalgoQ3dSI Q26itsQ3dIQ26ituQ3dUCIQ252BUAQ252BFICSQ26otnQ3d6Q2 6pmodQ3d180580576874Q26psQ3d63Q26clkidQ3d471204034 2628447763QQ_trksidZe17002Q2em263QQcategoryZ6750QQ itemZ130450894886 |

I emailed Vanson leathers about the jacket in the Barracuda pic, back last December. They told me they could not produce any more products with the "Buell" logo.

i ordered that jacket last sunday and received it thursday via DHL from Pakistan. didn't like the way the patches were sewn on the arms and the BUELL letters on the back. Jacket was flawless and looks to be worth. i offered 270 delivered to the door and they accepted. i took the 30.00 i saved and took it to the local shoe store and had the patches sewn to suit me. my view is had i bought it from HD i would have been contributing to the very company that put Buell out of business. Not trashing the motor company. my second bike is a 09 street glide. just not happy with the situation. i felt HD should have sold the buell brand and keep the name alive and people employeed (Message edited by vtwinvicq on November 06, 2010) |
