Blake, Over a year ago (before I went to L.A. to work) you were talking about a logo for the BBS. What ever happened? What'z the offical logo now? Plus, are the images still on the site that were suggested? If so, I can't find them. How about pointing me to them. Thanks, -JW:> |

Seems to be a few/lot/some double posts today, and the site-load seems a bit slow on the upload side. Don't know what the problem is, if any, just a heads-up in case you haven't noticed it already. |

I'm the new guy on the site. The dripping oil on my bike was cured with the click of the send button and the outstanding work of your members and American Sport Bike! I love the site but after reviewing this section am now scared to death! Computer weenies that are Buell riders! I now find myself sitting in front of the computer with my helmet and pocket protector on! This section is like a cross between Dexter's Lab and the Road Warrior! We can only hope that these minds don't turn to evil-now where did I leave my bullet proof vest???? |

Funny you should mention that Adk... I was talking to somebody yesterday describing my stateful dedicated firewall system (www.ipcop.org) and intrusion detection, and explained that I am not particularly concerned about my unsecured wireless 802.11b network, as anyone trying to crack that will be "in range". My active intrusion detection and response system? It's a combination of "snort" (www.snort.org), and a government surplus device built in preparation for the Normandy invasion. It's a .30/06 semi automatic intrusion detection system, built in 1944, capable of 8 cracker "interventions" between reloads. Don't worry. We are mostly harmless

Hi, this is a layout suggestion. The main badweb page is broken up into two frame columns, "menu" and "Main". They are currently set up to take 26% and %74 of the browser page respectively. This can, with monitors set to higher than 800x600 result in a whole bunch of extra space being used by the menu frame that could, I think, better be used for content in the Main frame. With that in mind, I've tinkered around with a bunch of browsers on Macs, Windows computers, and a Solaris system (I'm an IT guy, can't you tell?) and found that setting up the frameset as "<frameset cols="175,*">" so the menu column is a fixed width and the Main column can grow to fit the rest of the browser window works like a champ. If you'd like to see an example, I've put one up temporarily at: http://grove.ufl.edu/~jggowan/badweb.html Blake, if this was done for esthetical reasons, I understand. It's your baby, after all. -Geof |

I seem to be having a problem today using the "Last Day" link on the left. Normally this is how I refresh my screen to gather the latest messages. It's not working for me today! Just thought I would share.. |

Just wanted to congratulate this board and its moderator for its informative simplicity and ease of navigation. While at least some of this is related to the number of participants, it is far superior to the NE group. After acquiring a Yamaha, I'v been visiting the r1-forum.com page. With 45,000 registered users and uncontrolled multitopic rethreading, it is essentially impossible to receive replies as the number places to go is very extensive. Only through topic search and posting time narrowing can you find what you are interested but the likelyhood of someone else seeing your post is tiny. I suppose some users might connect in specific "active" areas but what if that is not the topic of your particular interest. |

Admin, Just a heads up.... The New Message utility at the Knowledge Vault main page links to the search page. The Engine Mechanical & Engine Valvetrain are both locked. DAve |

Search page and New Messages Page are now one in the same. Select the "Registered Users" checkbox to check for new messages. The "Start New Thread" link resides at the bottom of the list of subtopics in some KV topics. That is confusing and will be changed. Thanks for looking out for the BBS. Blake |

Hey Blake something I really enjoy on a few other boards I visit is the "whose online feature". Where once you get to the main page you login (or it does it for you depending on your personal settings)and it keeps you logged in until you exit the site. By doing this they are able to display to the rest of the users who exactly is logged in and online. Of course this information is only displayed to other logged in users. The other plus to this at least in my opinion is you do not have to type your username and password each time you post.(personal settings I know, however if you set it one way for this site it sets autolog on for all sites) Just a thought man. Tell me what you think! |
