Ay Rat, go out and buy a new cable, the cable is covered in teflon or some type of plastic. I wouldn't lie to you, it was different than my original 06 cable. As far as lube I would suspect it wouldn't hurt. Even WD 40 would work well in that situation. |

Oh, I have a new/spare cable. It's coiled under the seat, with my air compressor and plug kit (that got some use on Sunday night when I deflated the rear tire in Bristol VA...). I just need to take a look at it. |

Sorry to hear that, but at least you were prepared! You probably picked something up at Vern's! He's like that you know. Shows up at camp fires with mason jars and a smile on his face knowing he's going to hurt someone!! |

Greg, Greg, Greg.....I.....Well.....I don't know what to say. It seems like you are on to me! You cannot get away with anything now-a-days with out some do-gooder pointing out evidence or posting up pictures! |

Be sure to lube the swiveling bits at the controls. A bit of silicone based brake lube on each piece as you assemble it goes a long way. Broken quite a few clutch cables over the years and it always seems to go at the lever end. I guess the need to swivel as the lever rotates on it's pivot point generates the most stress. Every oil change I remove the end from the clutch lever and lube it up. I lube the cables just once a year. |

Tilt, Dead on! Most forget to lube that swedged on slug on the lever end. It's hidden out of site and easy to overlook. It makes a BIG difference in the longevity of the cable. Brad |
