So I went out to my garage tonight to have a look at the bike since it rained all day today. I always hook my bike up to the teather btw. I walk in and see the dash light stuck on my bike but it is in the position. I see this...
So I figure I better make sure it still starts sine the light has been on for like 24hours... well it does I guess since it has been plugged in all night. that's good. I back it outside to avoid filling up my garage with fumes.. I plan to run it till the cold light on dahs goes out. this is the first time I have had the bike running at night btw. First thing I notice is a lot of smoke is coming out if the exhaust. well it getting cold in canada so that may be normal... it does stop smoking in a few mins. I guess that could just be the fact that the choke was on for a few mins I guess. i know it doesn't have a choke but I figure the fuel injection does something when it first starts. So i see a bright glow inside teh bike, it is the pipes coming out of the back head. they are bright red and the bike is just at idle. the front one's are not lit up like a Christmas tree, just the back head not the front. The engine sounds a bit knockie but I think these engines always sound like that. Now there is a very good chance I am just paranoid and never noticed this before due to daylight but I have to ask in case my motor is doing something weird and or not getting oil properly. Here are the video's to see/hear it for yourself. I expect the dash staying on is a different issue all together. It turned off this time around after the 4mins. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ULJPw1PJyK4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kyx0G2evr-E Thanks Guys Kyle |

As far as the guage cluster goes, I have no idea. The security is in "ask" mode and i know mine will has a 4 minute countdown and will shut off afterwords. As far as the header glowing, welcome to the club. Mine did the same till I installed a Erik Buell Racing ECM. Im pretty sure the smoke is just steam from the exhaust as any car will also do in the colder weather. |

The dash lights staying on is weird, only thing I can think of is i plugged it in before the 4 mins was up. I hope this doesn't happen some day I am at work and come out to a dead bike. I never wait the 4 mins before I lock it and leave. It is very weird the pipes turn red after just warming up at idle. My ebr ECM is on the way along with a noid plug. Sounds like this ECM is a miracle worker... |

so, what your saying is, with the EB-R ECM the noid vanishes? cause i bought the plug to get rid of the dead weight, lol. |

I did the same thing, I ordered the ECM and the plug. Ebr confirmed with me today, you don!t need the plug if u use their ECM. It will save weight but that's it. Only wasted 6 bucks... |

Milo, Do a search on "active intake solenoid"...That will clear up what the resistor plug is for. |
