So I have a 2010 1125cr with 4000 miles. I had the harness done a couple thousand miles ago. I've never had an issue with charging, either before or after. Right after start up, it shows like 13 - 13.2v. As it warms, the volts climb to the high 13s at idle. As I start to ride and carry the revs above 3000, the volts hit a max of 14.2 and pretty much stay there, maybe dropping to 13.8 if I have the high beams, a blinker and the brake light on simultaneously. The bike starts right away every time and only stalls if I'm an idiot and forget to give it gas as I let out the clutch when it's warm. It makes great power from the basement to redline and it's all I can do to keep the front wheel on the tarmac through third gear if I leave "in a hurry." This wasn't exactly the case when it was stock, but I'm running the FMF pipe (it was a gift) and the Erik Buell Racing-ecm. Now it sounds and goes a helluva lot better with no dead spots in the midrange. Like I said, I'm feeling kind of lonely over here with nothing to bitch about. Oh wait, I do have something: it needs a steering damper and nobody makes one for it.

I didn't have any problems until I hit 4000. |

Hate to jinx myself, But no problems at all. My dealer, for which I am lucky, is positively committed that the harness fix was done correctly and will never leave me short. I think I'm just going to trust them. They have been 100% so far. |

Yeah I bragged about no clutch weep on mine for a while. Thought it was amazing I wasn't having any problems. Waiting on parts.

Rats: thanks. That was hilarious and I deserved it. But I'm not gonna start riding on eggshells. (Sorry for the horribly mixed metaphor). I don't believe in jinxes or luck when it comes to machinery. If it's gonna weep or short out or fry a stator or start making onion rings... whatever... it's gonna happen whether I post about it here or not. I'm just saying that SO FAR it's f-ugg-n' fabulous and I'm grateful for that. If you could see past my tinted visor you'd know how I feel about this bike, because I'm smiling every time I turn the little blue key. |

Yep, if it happens it happens. It's still the best bike I've ever ridden, and I'm going to ride her the way she was meant to be ridden! |

Ban me? You guys wouldn't do that would you? It's cold and scary out there if you're all alone... And trbulnt (sp?) They have a steering damper for the 1125r, but as I clearly stated, I have a different motorcycle. It won't work on the CR according to the people who'd know best (hint; they work in East Troy and it's NOT at Gus's burger joint). |

Sorry Natty I must have read to fast and missed that you have a CR! I will be in East Troy at Erik Buell Racing tomorrow and will have to check if Gus's is open as I could go for a good burger! |

I'm still full from the last time I ate there. They have some sort of gargantuan triple bacon cheese burger thing that weighed more than the stock exhaust on our bikes. I chased it with a chocolate custard shake. And the fries are great too. All in, it was enough calories to keep the 5th marines energized for a month. |

Now you've jinxed yourself. Get this - I posted here on a stator thread that I had never had an issue pre or post subharness install, factory ECM or the E B R unit that I MUCH prefer. On the ride home that same day, bye bye stator. So at 3,108 miles I was trouble-free, but at 3,112 it was being loaded for a trip to the dealer. It comes back home tomorrow - Can't wait!! Mike |

Forget the burger, Gus' has broasted chicken. And they don't mind tripling the chocolate in a shake. I'm hungry |

oh yeah... broasted chicken!!! that's amazing stuff. We don't really have that in LA. Maybe I'll start saving up for homecoming 2011... with a Gus's budget added on.

You guys think the 1125 really needs a steering damper? I think it needs a better set of forks more than anything else. |

13,000 miles. Only "problem" is the bogus LFL+CEL in cooler temperatures. Original wiring harness. Don't need a steering damper, don't need new forks. I do want longer-lasting tires, though. Might try out the Metzeler Z6 Interacs at the next tire change. |

I wish I shared your experience My bike has been in and out of the shop over 5 times since ownership, including a new crate motor. I don't even have 1500 km on the bike. Last time I took it in they pulled the new charging harness off, my bike charges fine now.. but I have to bring it in again for something else. Sigh. |
