Pirelli Rosso Tires
Does anyone else feel as the rear tire is lose exiting the corner in a heavy lean and hard on the throttle...the bike feels as moto gp bikes look with the wobble coming out of a corner. I am not sure if the tire gets lose once I start hitting the little arrows on the side of the tire or....

I don't know much but the sound of heavy lean and hard on the throttle would probably make most tires feel loos3
I've had a rosso before and the last half inch of tire is slick meaning no sipes right?

Hot tire pressure matters more than anything else...

Don't forget suspension setup. Too firm and you "skate".

well I am working up to the track, just out having fun on country roads in BFE...Lot's of twisties. Next time I'll check tire pressure after the heat of the moment, when it starts getting squirrely.

What should it be about 38-40 rear and front?

I am wondering the same as you. Is it just the last half inch of the tire that feels slick...I have been on that part quite a bit, so that part of the tire is far from new and slick.

I will try softening the suspension once I rule out tire pressure.

}Thanks Guys}

HOT yea, something like that for street. On the track when running a sport/performance tire, often 32 hot is a good number. I ran 33 or so COLD pressure for street and had good results.

On race tires, 25 hot and even lower is common

Just for comparison, 31 front 22 rear was recommended for the Pilots last weekend at MMP.

I ran 31 front 29 rear on the Pirelli's on a 65 degree track and they managed to hook up fine after warming up.

If it is loose out of the corners - check your rear compression/rebound settings. One click on rebound can make a big difference.

Jim has a lot more experience with this, but I'd offer that you invest a few bucks and get your suspension set-up checked (and maybe not your local H-D guy - use someone who knows race suspension set-up). Note that a track set up will probably be too harsh for street, so keep track of your settings so you can go back.

Track day, check your pressures (I like to start first session a little on the high side, then bleed down to desired "hot" pressures right after coming off the track). Ride next session, then make minor adjustments one at a time to get dialed in..It might take half a dozen tweaks to find the sweet spot - also make friends: lots of track folks are more than happy to help with tips or suggestions (not everyone knows what they are talking about, though - caveat emptor)...

Should have mentioned the Pirelli's I was running were Corsa Diablo, not Rosso's, sorry.

The Rosso's feel just like the Corsa just a little more grip coming out of the corner, but still have the same feel when getting to the edge! Maybe it is my setup, but I'm not changing a thing until I get tire pressure; once I get my bike back from the shop (charging issue)}

I run my Rosso Corsas at 27/27 front and rear on the track COLD. When I come off the track usually the front has jumped to 30 HOT and I leave it there. However, the rear, last time on the track jumped 6 PSI up to 33 HOT. I dropped it down to 30 HOT and it stuck all day long. I've never had this tire slip out on me. Only time I've had the front slip is when I was almost on cords at the track.
