Is this the factory shifter? It seems like it mounts in a weird way to me.

It is the OEM Shift Lever and is adjustable to fit your riding position(toe angle) ... |

I was curious because it doesn't seem to be the most secure way of mounting. I adjusted mine last night and thought I had it tight and it managed to fall off during my test ride this morning. I just figured the oem shifter would have actually mounted to the shaft and not a spacer. I am going to have to mod it a little for the misses, add a second horizontal bar closer to the pivot and longer than the current pad. She has small feet. Thanks for the info. |

Factory thought every BLAST rider wore a size 13 male shoe ??? That is called IMPROVISING lever to fit the foot ... It was designed to move easy as not to brake anything in the transmission if you fell ... The pinch bolt will hold the lever tight enough, so check it closer ... Oh I got it snugged up the second time. Now it is just time to mod it, will have to go visit my friend at the machine shop. |

You should PM Gearheaderiko about his mod to the shifter. Sound like you need to do the same thing he did with his. |

FYI: The Blast uses coarse threads, just about every other Harley or Buell uses fine threads for the shifter peg. So if you use a shifter peg in the second hole and want a larger selection of pegs, go fine thread. If you just want to add another Blast peg, go coarse threads. 'Bolt' diameter is the same. Sportster and other Buell shifter arms will also fit. Some (most?) will be too short though (imho). |

PS You can also add a set screw to the shifter so it grabs the spacer better. But as mentioned, you really shouldnt have any problems with the stock set up. |
