So while workin on my new S1 tonight, the gas cap stripped. The plastic rotator cuff stripped out so its not slotted anymore. I tried a few things but couldnt really get it to hold tight anymore. Anyone have a spare gas cap or know where I can get just the plastic rotator cuff? |

i had the same thing happen. The plastic hole rounded out completely. I fixed it by adding a star washer that grips into the plastic. I sandwiched it between the nut and the plastic piece. I think there is a flat washer in there too. The important part is to have the star washer so that it will grip the plastic. If you'd like I can post some or send you some pictures. Let me know. |

I think we have a used gas cap at the shop. PM me, and let me know what you think is fair, and we'll ship it to you. |

I verified I have a used cap (in good shape) and a brand new o-ring in stock. Let me know if you are interested. We'll work you a deal. |

Get Ft's cap, he's a good guy. But for our other viewers...a Blast cap works just fine on a tuber, and they're still available new. |

Oh yea... that star lock washer would work great... I'm going to give that a shot first. Unless my locktite hardned over night and that worked as well... Otherwise I'll get with you Bastard. |

Foximus, I used a fender washer that I had ground points into the edge and heated it up with a propane torch while it was sitting on a bolt in a vice. I pushed the black plastic part down onto it while it was hot to imbed it into the plastic and cut flats into the center hole so it would index properly. Total cost about 10 cents. The only way it could ever spin is if the black part broke |

"I'll get with you Bastard." Only on Badweb can that be said without offending someone. btw - Thanks Jeremy, I got the 06 seat in Missouri and love it. It was real comfy all the way back home. Definitely doesn't get as hot as the 09 seat. |
