That guy you saw from ny with the belt problem has been through 4 belts because he never upgraded his system. It is his own fault. I mean, if you know the original setup is faulty, and you know they make an upgrade. Why would you not change it. | ||

If you go through 4 belts in a year, you have something out of alignment causing undue stress and premature failure. Barker has over 70k miles on his original 03 belt. | ||

Drew,we could likely meet you at Danbury.We'd like to ride rt.6(?) towards Carmel and that other cool road rt.301 to 9 south to Annsdale then the Goat trail(?) to the Bear mt. bridge.I ate lunch once at a pretty good place near Annsdale circle,i think it was called the "Rusty Rudder". After the long ride out we'll NEED a lunch before heading back. | ||

Just myself last Sunday and a 2010 GW.Got a pic of UlyNut at Bear mt.He stopped for a bit. We stopped on the way out rt84s in Hawleyville where i phoned Doz.I should've stopped in.After a brief stop atop Bear mt. we TOTALLY back roaded it east to home.Rt22n in NY to 44e to 8n to 57e 183/190 to 44e in Pomfret CT . I've sent PMs' recently here and think the system may not be working properly. | ||

Went to Marcus today, auction was not very interesting, hung out for awhile but there's nothing special about used pots, pans, dishes. Most popular thing was the stainless steel stools being sold up to $175 each. Can't say I'll really miss the place but I will miss the people that I used to see there that arn't on the planet anymore. But it would be an awsome place for an Erik Buell Racing dealership! | ||

NJBO is doing a ride, and has suggested that Griff, Ulynut and I make up team CT for the pit bike races to be held at GIG at the end of the ride. Maybe we can get AARP as a sponsor? Anyone else going?...check out the NJBO site for details. | ||

Puttin new shoes on the bolt- friggin wheel bearings are stiff as heck. Define "heck"= too tight to my liking. CRAP! gotta search the KV for info on the swapping of these buggers! | ||

I might have a set of wheel bearings Drew I'll check tomorrow. If your pulling em I used a slide hammet cause the aluminum tube in there wouldn't let me get at em through the wheel. | ||

Doz I have a spare set of bearings if you need them, but removal and reinstallation are beyond my abilities. | ||

Actually I checked out the kv board. Turns out these "sealed bearings" are not so sealed after all. I popped the seal off and re-greased them right on the wheel. OK, so it's not the perfect fix and time (or an accident) will tell if this is a good thing to do. BUT..the bearings where tight, not loose or sloppy at all. Since repacking them they feel more like they should. Worst case..I crash from bearing failure (not likely)..best case, I bought myself so time before they actually do wear out. Thanks froggy and bear for the offer, good to know someone has my back. Now who wants to go riding? |
