So I ride from Seattle to Battle Ground Wa. a lot (175 miles) to work on my 66 mustang. I dont have room for it in my small one car garage here in Seattle, so I keep it at my Pops. I dont care for I-5 or any other straight highways, so I always try different routes no matter how long they might take me My favorite hwy is Wa. St. Route 131 just east of Mt. St. Helens (picture taken earlier this summer) So Sat morning thats what I did. I rode in to Randle from Hwy 7 and pulled into a gas station. I looked up and saw a couple of guys pointing at my bike on their Ducati's, I gave them a nod but they acted like they didnt see me (kind of snubbed me). Oh well, I thought. So anyways they take off down the road as I filled up, went pee and got a water. I got back on the road excited and knowing I was about to ascend and descend 70+ miles of switchbacks! I had my Uly XT packed and loaded. Started up the Hwy and found the cages politely moving over for me to pass and its a beautiful autumn day in the state of Washington. Im about 15 miles down the hwy and end up catching and passing the two Ducati's who must have sh$t when they saw my fully loaded Uly come up behind them and then pass out of the corners like a demon from hell! Swift Reservoir Just wanted to share my fun. Oh and my foggy mask RULES!!!!!

Nice ! Always nice to hear of a spaghetti-bender gettin' housed by a Muell. + 1 on the Foggy, Middle of winter single digits at a red light and no sign of fog on the shield. Theonly thing cooler than a Foggy is a Froggy... |

Use that snorkel on the snowmobile...huffing and puffing through the steep and deep on Mt. Baker just north of you! Euly |

Looks like a great ride. I've passed Ducati's on Deal's Gap with an electra glide!! Now I admit, it looked like a guy and his wife and she was a newby but bottom line is I passed two Ducati's on Deal's gap with an electra glide!! That's my story and I'm sticking to it!! Thanks for the pics, must put that on my bucket list!! |

Love those Washington State roads. Haven't had the chance to travel them since my last ride to the coast 2 years ago. Thanks for reminding me! |

Honestly, Ive past more than a few Barney fife's while over the limit (speedwise in the twisties) and they've been what seems to be patient with motorcyclists using their machines for what they were intended. Now with that said I am currently on a deferral from a ticket I got in June from the Wa. State Patrol following my buddy on his Ducati STS 4 on the Rose city 1000 to Moscow Idaho. Which is o.k. cause I got him a ticket following me on my H.D. in 2001. Paybacks a bitch. |

My buddy Mongo lived in Moscow Idaho and worked in Pullman Wa. He lived there a couple of years so I asked him what it was like up there. He says, " There are two kinds of people up here, homosexual tree hugger's and those of us that want to shoot them." Mongo never sugar coats anything!! Thanks for conjuring up an old memory! |

The Uly handles VERY WELL when loaded for touring. I kept up with a couple sportbikes on my Seattle trip last year. I had waved 'em by so they knew what kind of "pig" was keeping up with them. Nice pics. Thanks for sharing. --Doc |
