Jose, I forgot you were a Rush fan. If I weren't commuting with 3 other buddies I would take the Buell and your suggested route. Really looking forward to the show. |

Jose and Joe, hope you had a safe ride home from the Rush show last night. I did a quick scan for your bikes in the motorcycle lot when I walked but, but didn't see them. Here are my pics from the show: http://www.flickr.com/photos/planethiker/sets/7215 7624989343442/ |

I was there - rode the Uly and parked in the grass strip before you get to the entrance...it made for a really fast getaway, though I do like parking with the other bikes up front. I should have taken exit 44 off I-66...everybody was using 43A so it was barely moving...a huge backup on the highway. I ended up going to 43B and doing a U-ey to head back to the venue. It's never a fun place to get to, but your route off Lee Highway looks like it might be better. I noticed my low beam bulb had burned out after I'd left, so I ended up having to use the high beam on the way home. Great show - my 11th time seeing them since 1986, and I've never heard such a good sound mix. Moving pitchers! |

Anyone from the area going to Buelltoberfest? I'm riding down to TWO that Thursday...and back up to Fredneck on Sunday. Also, if anyone has a tweaked topcase rack for a Ulysses that they want to get rid of, I'm interested in it. I want to get one that I can re-do, and make to fit up to the S2 for trips like this. |

Joe, I've confirmed that Buelltoberfest is the same weekend as my WV mountain biking trip with friends. It's also a camping weekend so I'll be prepared to do either depending on the forecast for WV vs. GA. I ordered a new rear tire so I'll be ready for a road trip. Turns out Pirelli is replacing the Strada with the Angel. It's also a high mileage sport-tour tire. Had a great time last Saturday. Thanks! |

Tony - glad you had a good time, we sure did. Hopefully you can make it to BTF4, but go where the weather is, absolutely. I've ridden an XT with Angels on it - good tire. I like. And, for the record...it's tough to take a photo of your bike going down the road. In the mirror of your bike. While you're riding your bike. With a Blackberry. (here's Tony on my S2, behind Kim and I on the Uly):

Joe, That's actually a cool action shot given all the variables. That's the first S2 I've ever ridden and I really enjoyed the hell out of it. The next day I found myself searching ebay and craigslist out of curiosity. If I only had more room in the basement. Here's the photo I took from the ride to Brewer's Alley. If you get a chance email me the pics you took with the crackberry.

Hey Guys, Hope all is well with everybody. I have been riding from DC out to Winchester via Hwy 50. Grove's Winchester HD has been doing an excellent job on my bikes. I was coming back two weeks ago where 340 crosses 50 and looked down to check my speedometer and there was a deer....broad open daylight coming up on a busy intersection. I missed him, but it happened so fast, I didn't have time to let go of the throttle and grab the brake. I think it was a buck, but all I saw was his back side.....'Tis the season. |

Good ride today from Bowie, MD. Paul led us on a shortened Lars ride. Buell in the front and Buell (mine) in the back. In the middle, Ben on his KTM 990 Duke and Jim on his New to him (2 days) Duc. S2R. A little chilly, but a good time and we beat the rain. No problems with deer. Ben had a minor incident with a crazed chipmunk, though. |

Was it a chipmunk or groundhog? Had kid duties...sorry I missed the ride. I got in a 40 mile quick run, closer to home. Paul...Harford Road is re-paved. Fun...fast...twisty...and smooth. |

I got out in the afternoon after family patrol...I realized how good any road with "mill" in the name is, especially "Hipsley Mill Road". It was cool - I even clicked on the heated grips at 3pm. |

Wow...and I felt bad that I only ran through two tanks of fuel in the S2 yesterday after work....guess a light day of 320 miles or so isn't too bad And the heated jacket liner made its first appearance, in Gettysburg battlefield on the way home from Mercersburg-ish. It was truly a day of "this truck is pissing me off at 23 miles per hour and that looks like a good surface on that road"...and turning left. Or right. Or wherever. I figured I'd hit something familiar...eventually. And if not..."Route Home" is a nice button to have on the Garmin Nice day to ride, and it helped me make a couple of decisions regarding the S2's setup. Lots of washouts from last weeks' rains, though...tons of gravel and crap on the roads. Fortunately I kept fiberglass off the pavement! |

Hoop, I think what Rat was trying to say was that he put too many miles on the bike and spent way too much money on gas. He would like for us to help him out and send the kids up to him, next week, so that we can have a great day riding. Don't worry, he sold me my bike...I have his address. |

320 miles! I can only dream. For me, miles like that would have to be cleared months in advance. |

That's a short day. Gettin' ready to ride to Buelltoberfest on the 14th; blast around GA for...3 days or so, and ride back. Should rival the 2200 mile trip (around Lake Michigan) from here to Homecoming this year. 2-up. In 3 days' riding. And you're welcome to bring kids...but they're gonna be in the backyard with the dogs while I'm out riding. Fair warning. LOL |

Twintour - right now I'm leaning to the Ulysses again, simply because of luggage capacity and farkle content (it has all my chargers wired up, etc.). Plan right now is to be stand-up between 7 and 8 on Thursday morning. Gonna shoot down 15/29 to Charlottesville and meet up with Hillis, head west from there to Wintergreen, hop on the BRP, take it as far as I feel like taking it (depends on time and sunlight), then heading to Vern's for the night. He's always got a great route from his place, over the Cherohola Skyway and into TWO on Friday. |
