Need Help, My 2002 x1 has electrical promblem.Every so often it will not supply current to the starter.It has a new battery from hd.Today it would turn oh head light and tail light.No power to horn,blinkers or starter.Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Dmac |

Check grounds, all of them. The one that goes from the bottom of the battery box to the swing arm block and the harness ground above the battery underneath the seat/tank junction are known trouble areas. |

Does the little red dash light come on?. My ignition switch is a bit dodgy, sometimes it'll do the same as your symtoms sans the red light.Just have to wiggle the key when turning on. |

+1 on the fusebox. Mine looked perfectly sano under there but the connectors were all fuzzy with corrosion. WD40 them and reseat each one a bunch of times. If your bike still refuses to make noise, I would go after those black relays. They are both the same so you could buy just one and try it in each position. Most likely just corrosion or a spooky grounding situation though. |
