OK, I know this has been mentioned on here...but it looks like they're using Jamie's 1125R in the new ad, pulling the tablecloth out? But...he has an '08, and I clearly see a silver swingarm (bare aluminum). Could he be *that* much of an enthusiast, that he has a Buell Racing chain conversion swingarm? It was too quick to see if there was an axle adjuster setup...or did he just not like blue and stripped it down? |

I've been watching Mythbusters all night but haven't been paying attention to the bike they used. I'll watch a little closer next time that ad comes on. |

Just had it on again (Ave Maria is a giveaway)...looked like a round axle to me, not a square slot. Weird. Anyone in The Biz, in SoCal, who can ask him? I used to work in the industry here in DC/Baltimore, and the majority of "stars" were more than happy to just shoot the sh....er, breeze, as long as they weren't being treated like "stars". SOMEbody has to have access to those guys... |

Looking in the thread on quick board, it's the full fairing kit from Buell, with the E B R logo on it (meaning he's keeping up on current stuff!!). |

They are actually based in my old neighborhood in Oakland. Too bad I'm stuck in Phoenix. |

I met the guy (Jamie) shortly after he bought his 08 25. He was all pissed off that his bike ran so hot! (in the beginning days) the staff at Peninnsula HD in Redwood city Ca. actually thanked me for clueing him in on the nature of the beast. At the time I figured him for a short timer, I am surprised he still has the bike! more surprised he may have modified it. He gave me his Email but big surpise, never got back at me. Did not strike me as a regular guy. that is putting it nicely! Enjoy Friends! |

so am I getting this correct? Mythbusters is going to challenge the Beemer commercial and try to yank that tablecloth? Does anyone know when this will be aired? |

Thought that I had read on Erik's facebook page that they (E.B.R.) supplied the bike. That was pretty much the only thing he gave away about it...just said to tune in. |

Listen to 'the nerdist' podcasts where they interview Adam and then the whole crew. Most say they are much nicer than most people in the biz... That being said, don't hold up your hopes that a TV/movie hero are nice people (or at least nice to you). They often are not as they have to deal with the annoying and often moronic public day after day. |

I've got some friends who are actors....and they're the happiest when they're just Normal Folks. John (yes, that's his name) and his wife Val went to Ireland for vacation a number of years ago. John was on a landmark TV show that aired in black and white - and he's still active in the industry. He stands out. People know him. They get to this island in Ireland for a week's vacation. No TV at all. No broadcast, no cable - nothing. Ever. He's "John the American" for pretty much the first time in his life, and they stayed there for SIX WEEKS. Until another yank showed up and screwed it all up for them. Best month and a half of his life, he said. I learned in my years of working in the industry - don't "oh my god wow holy crap you're xxxxx". Say hi, smile, see if they say hi back. If they don't...let them enjoy their day and don't get up in their face. ...still think it'd be cool to meet the Mythbusters guys, though...especially if talking bikes was a possibility. |
