Andrew did your shop ever get any fork kits in? Can you ball park for me the cost with the forks off the bike? |

I don't think Andrew is working at any of the HD/Buell shops in town. I haven't seen him post in awhile either... |

So what is the reliable shop in town? I normally go to Arrowhead but I kinda got a bad taste when I had to take my bike in a second time to get something fixed after it was kicked over in a parking lot. I'm still sure that they didn't correct the problem. I'm just going to do the work myself. But I don't trust myself enough to start messing with the forks. |

the forks are pretty easy. I've fabricated a fork spring compression tool, and have done quite a few now. If you can get off on a weekday, we can do them at my house. Have to be before Nov 1st though... |

Just a little over a week to go, until the big ride!!! Here is a reminder about the Fall Ride: We have set the dates for our fall ride up HWY 191. October 8th, 9th, and 10th. Meet up on the east side at Idaho, and US60, at the Chevron on the northeast corner. Kickstands up at 10AM, then head up through Globe, Salt River Canyon, through the White Mountain Apache reservation, through Springerville/Eager, and on into Alpine. Dinner and social hour at the cabins, I think David will be barbecuing. We will be staying at the Coronado Trail Cabins, south of Alpine. http://www.alpinearizonacabins.com/reservations.cf m They are about $80 a night, and some have multiple beds so you can split the tab with someone. They all have a kitchenette, so we can keep our beer cold. The Coronado cabins are filled up, we are also staying at these cabins, they are within a half mile of each other… Alpine Cabins Retreat 1 County Road 2055 Alpine, AZ 85920 (928) 339-4440 Meadows Edge Cabins 25327 Highway 191 Alpine, AZ 85920 (928)245-5558 We will need to stock up in Springerville, since there is no grocery stores in Alpine. You will need to get stuff for breakfast, unless you want to eat at the café in town, which has good chow. I’m not sure when they open though. 2nd day, head out to New Mexico, following the 2003 BRAG torqueFest route, down and loop back into AZ. Stop at Daryl Levesque's marker, and pay our respects. Lunch in Morenci, and then up HWY 191 through to Alpine. Dinner and social hour will be at the cabins. Debbie will be cooking up some Hatch Green chili enchiladas for the gang. 3rd day: Head back to Phoenix down HWY260, through Show Low, Heber, Payson, the group can split here if they wish, and the East-siders can go down the beeline to fountain hills, to the east side. Us west side folks will be riding up through Strawberry, and taking HWY 260 across to Camp Verde, and then blasting down I-17 to town. 3 days of fun in the Mountains. About 650 miles total. Vacation day on Friday to ride up... Check your calendar, and start buttering up the 'ol lady for permission! Remember... While it is still hot as hell down here, it will be cool up there in the evening, and early morning. bring a jacket liner, and bring rain gear!!! Weather is unpredictable in the mountains. |

you can take them off the bike at my place, I have stands. Do you have a manual? If your seals are good, you should just change out the fluid, i think it's HD type II or something like that. You will need two bottles because it takes about 3/4 of a bottle for each fork. Monday should work for me, I will be just getting back from New Mexico... |

Hey guys, I will passing through Phoenix on my way from Albuquerque to San Diego this coming weekend. Most likely 40w to the 17s, down to the 8w all the way to the end (I know its more detailed then that. It was just the jist of it all). I will be doing the trip in 2 days so I am planing on stopping over in Phoenix for the night and then heading back out Sunday morning sometime. Any Words of wisdom, places to rest my head, sights along the way, etc? Thanks Tommy (Message edited by dmanchild on October 05, 2010) |

11 people so far, looking good, how many on the east side? and how many on the west side? I'm leaving my house on the west side around 8:45AM. Remember, I am planning on LEAVING the gas station at Idaho, and US60 AT 10AM. You should try to be there by 9:30AM, there will be a riders meeting... |

Man, sounds like you guys had some weather in the Phoenix area last night! Joanie is in Scottsdale right now and called last night in the middle of a massive hail storm. We get some big storms up here, but that one sounded like a real doozy... funnel clouds and all! Hope everyone came through it ok. Now I'm glad we bought a condo with an actual garage for the Uly. |

Yea, we got three different rain/hail storms in Glendale yesterday. I rode to work, like a fool, had to dodge many huge puddles. The ride home this morning was great though. Yea, garages are good here, air conditioned ones are even better! I'm getting jazzed about the ride this weekend, only two more days! Woohoo! Darth, bummer your still having problems, wish I could help you. |

Wish I could join the group this weekend... it sounds like a great time! We will be in Scottsdale from Oct 14th to the 22nd and hope to get some riding in. Joanie is up for it as well, so let me know if anyone wants to meet up... even if its just for a coffee. We've got some friends staying with us so I'll probably be ready for a bike ride! Weather up here is good for a change, took one of the bikes to work today! It's a balmy 68F... we are officially into Indian Summer. |
