Lol, you two are making this whole thing so complicated. It's a fantastic read. Please find a way together the whole trip on video, it'd be the best comedic documentary of all time. |

And I was joking about the mirror........... Hell, I'm all for putting the miles on his truck. But with the goofy a$$ hours he works, time is, believe it or not, at a premium, and we have yet to see it will work. |

Oops. Posted that before I read your dildo response. Actually I'm not kidding. If I remember, you were the biggest crybaby of all when Tramp was riding your a$$ about your diet. Don't read it if you don't like it. Now go look in the mirror to cheer yourself up. |

I retract my last statement then. My bad. Serious thought, have you guys thought about renting a little box truck? Plenty of room, and it's a few air mattresses away from being a high and dry tent. |

Wow, that took a turn for the worse lol. Unlike others, I really don't care what people I've never met or never will think about me. It's all meant to be light hearted fun, and that exactly how I take it. I will read it cuz I do like it. I think it's funny. (Message edited by Badlionsfan on September 28, 2010) |

In the bed of a truck, I have NEVER strapped the rear of a bike down. A trailer, different story (bouncy-bouncy)...but a truck? Never had one move even an inch once the front's compressed properly. Is the *contact patch* of the rear tire on the tailgate? Or in the bed? Doesn't make a lick of difference if the back half of the wheel hangs out the end...if the contact patch is in the bed, lose the gate. No problem. |

Holy hell, this topic still hasn't been resolved? Two bikes - any bikes - in the back of a truck is not that complicated. Hell, I have had to do it in the middle of the night on the side of the freeway. Don't over-think it. Just throw them in there, strap them down and be done with it. You don't need chocks, you don't need any drilling, you don't need any bolts. |

personally I would take off the front fender and then place a wood block between the tire and the bottom of of your forks, and that will keep your bike from blowing a fork seal |

I'm with Ratbuell, never strapped a bike down in the rear of a truck. No need, the ride is plush as your grandma's Cadillac! No movement/bounce on the ass end. Tighten the front just enough, not too tight to collapse the forks too much, just enough to keep shiznit in line. I have a home made front end stand that I welded and used with no "real" side support (can post pics), just the little pressure from the forks against the truck bed front was plenty enough support. |

Why would you blow a fork seal? Front forks are compressed when you ride. |

Hope ya don't have to make any quick lane changes or avoid something in the road. A "plush" suspension ain't gonna do shit from stopping the ass end of the bikes from moving. |

Why would you blow a fork seal? Front forks are compressed when you ride It does happen.. especially if overtightened and left in place for a long period of time (hours), The breakdown service I use are particularly paranoid about it.. |

Fork seals often blow when the bikes are strapped too tightly. Tie the bike down just tight enough to keep it stable. Don't tighten it down past about 25-30% of the fork travel. |

Fork seals often blow when the bikes are strapped too tightly this is why dirt bike guys often use a strut of somesort in between the front wheel and the tripple tree's |
