NSR 50s are pretty quick little bikes. I had one. engine is all aluminum, It is light. Probably good for 50-55mph stock depending on the size of the rider. it was a fun little bike. | ||

I thought it was cool too. Super Motard's with small and larger motors are bound to happen with gas prices on their upward march. The smaller and capable market is bound to develop with rising gas prices. The XB platform could hold smaller water cooled engines, or hang a rack of lithium ions... | ||

Back when I was in school many years ago, they stuffed a suzuki gt185 motor (I think) in one of those frames. I think the cylinders were turned around so the carbs hung out the front, custom made expansion chambers out the back and they dyno'd it to see what it had in it. As I recall, it twisted both the swingarm and the frame. They finally got it sorted out by beefing stuff up a lot and got it out to run it. The inaugural run it got totaled when it stepped out on the instructor that was racing/riding it. I think the stock ysr motor had 4-5 hp, I got maybe 18 out of the one I ported/polished/massaged. The highest in the class at the time was maybe 19. | ||
