Anyone using anything non-OEM or modified OEM? I'd like to get the bars a little lower, and perhaps a slightly further reach out. The stock posture of the bike doesn't encourage me to get out over the front wheel as much as I'd like... |

you can flip the American Sport Bike off-set bars up-side down. might have to re-drill switch-housing holes. or there might be a cheaper option with some 47mm ebay clipons .... |

I had the top triple dehorned by Erik Buell Racing and installed clip ons. Woodcraft with 1.5 inch risers. The bars are almost the same height but about 1 inch closer to you, putting the bars more inline with the forks instead of out ahead of them. Better feel and feed back. IMO. |

Wraith, how 'bout some more info on that? How to get it done, cost of the clip ons etc. I've been looking for something like this since I think the Heli bar triple really changed the feel on the XB and attribute it to the bars being closer to the forks turning radius. But, they don't make one for the XB. I've put the bars from American Sport Bike on and they help on the wrists, but do nothing for the feel IMO. |

Thanks guys but keep in mind I'm looking for a race application here. Anyone used the Attack triples with the offset collets capability? Kinda pricey, but would add some adjustability to the front end... |

Jim, hope you did well with CMRA. Here's a link I found a while back of a guy who swapped an R1 front end with an attack racing triple into an 1125. the guy had his bike for sale on Ebay, IIRC. You may be able to track him down through this link and see if he has input on the attack racing setup. --Kevin http://forums.13x.com/showthread.php?t=261995#post 3149801 (Message edited by torquaholic on September 26, 2010) |

Torque, Obviously if I do an R1 front end swap all kinds of options open up. That's not really the road I'm looking to go down, since it would probably cost more than just buying the attack set for the 1125. ($1,000ish incl clip on set.) As for CMRA I got my ass kicked this weekend -- I may have even had one race where I came in DFL, but to be fair I'm a novice and I was racing in a couple of mixed novice/expert classes. I got lapped, even. Ugh. In the novice only Superstock B, I did much better -- 15th out of 28 starting from the very back row. I do much better on the tight, technical tracks that emphasize braking. Smooth flowing crap eats my lunch. In August at Eagle's Canyon, I got third in HW-Twins, and actually beat a couple of guys that easily handled me at Cresson this weekend. |

I have a new set of vortex clipons I'll sel you. Got em to use on track days but since they require removing the triple clamp, I never bothered. I placed a classified for em a month or so ago, then got busy with other stuff. mine back for it--photos are there too I think. S |

JD, PM Lovedabueller, he has a set of clipons under his top triple on his 1125R. Maybe he can point you in the right direction? |

i put my S1 54mm clipons under the top triple after cutting off the stock bar mount ears on a bandsaw and sanding the top mount smooth. at first the setup felt strange as you lose some sharp turn radius as the bar hits the frame or the fairing while moving the bike around. on the track i have never moved the bars to full travel. it definitely puts more weight on the front and pulls your body closer to the tank. (i'm 5'6") pm me and i will send some pics. tim |

We have these Free Spirits triple trees available to fit the 1125 and XB models. Much lighter than stock http://www.trojan-horse.co.uk/prods/298.html (Message edited by trojan on September 30, 2010) |

Holy! $1400 for triples and clip-ons! Ouch. They look nice, but for $400 less, I could have the Attack offset triples, and get some adjustability in the set-up to boot. |

They are expensive but not THAT expensive! Current exchange rates would make them around US$1100 rather than $1400 you suggest |

Erik Buell Racing has the setup from the Barracuda, nice upper triple, very light, with clip-ons. Check with them. |

Hi To all: These are the correct VORTEX clipons for the Buell 1125. I have no idea what other bikes they'll fit. Jdugger: PM sent to you. http://www.vortexracing.com/index.php?src=director y&view=Products&class0=Clipons&class0_0=38&query=% 28Category%3ABrand%3AModel%3AYear.eq.Clipons%29.an d.%28%28Category%3ABrand%3AModel%3AYear.eq.Clipons %29.and.%28Category%3ABrand%3AModel%3AYear.eq.Clip ons%29%29&refno=375&srctype=Products_detail |

Sorry not to get back right away. Erik Buell Racing has stuff not on their website. Not really sure why. I was picking up some parts and Michael mentioned it to me. I think they may have more stuff once they have quantity. Or maybe not? email Michael Richter if you want one. I didn't ask price. |
