Can anyone provide feedback on the Leatt neck brace? |

At the risk of being a post ....The leatt brace is supposed to limit the basal skull fracture injury as well as the over acceleration of the skull. It does this by limiting the movement of the skull in certain kinds of high energy transfer events, ( crashes) if you can afford one and feel the need to get on I will never tell you not to get one. I rather you be able to tell a war story then become a statistic. I am actually waiting for them to incorporate it into a jacket for me to get one. Until then I use super light helmets (3 pounds or so ) full face design. Cause IMO a half helmet is no helmet |

Thanks for that. I'm also interested in fit and feel information. Is it comfortable like the company claims? Can you still turn your head for lane changes? If you wear a jacket with a collar does it still fit? Stuff like that... |

I ride a 9R with a full-face helmet and a jacket with a short collar, and I can barely move my head enough to do lane checks as it is. I think the addition of a giant pastic neck brace would do VERY little to promote safety. They are designed for dirtbike riders, who are always upright on their machines. It might work on a lightning or Uly, but they just don't work for the "sportbike" riding position. |

actually they work well in both riding positions it used to be a staple from nascar but now the leat brace is used in many motor sports arenas, people tend to follow trends in safety. They want the most bang for the buck I follow the same moniker to an extent and feel that the pros outweigh the cons for this devices applications. Now as far as comfort that is subjective, full range of motion is why they recommended the brace for race and street use. I believe the brace is to be worn over your jacket eliminating any binding issues. |
