Hmmm, must be one of them there secret password meetings. Anyone care to give the highlights of what happened or was discussed? Do we have a new dealership liason yet? Oh well, back to the wolf research I guess. |

No liason as of yet. No real news either. We had the meeting outside, about 10 folks there. Yakked about the 20th & the 100th. Jerry dolphin suggested all of us coming up with some ride ideas for next year so we can come up with a calender asap so folks can plan ahead. PS..I told them to make sure they didnt just photocopy the waterloo brag chapters calender & claim it as their own. Also Jerry wants folks to consider officer positions. Who would be interested in one? Also discussed possible locations for a Xmas dinner...looks like it might be Saz's again. Hell, thats all I can remember for now. PS #2....you need to borrow a gallon of antifreeze or maybe a 9mm? |

I liked my idea about posting "Free Food" on the VC Forums. Hope, Mike still has a sense of humor about it. |

Thanks, and nope I'm more than amply supplied in the necessary categories. Any mention of the Slimey Crud Run which I believe is October 5th? |

I just go to look at all the bikes that show up out there, sort of like a random museum experience. |

Slimey Crud is on Oct 5th. I am planning on going and I believe quite a few others are as well. Will check around and let you know. Correction: If no one else posts that they are going, then fuggit, I will make my own ride that day. No sense in wasting time or effort planning on something that you don't know is going to materialize until it happens. edited by nevco1 on September 10, 2003 |

For Slimey Crud I always do my own thing. Last year I met up with a factory guy on an XB who had stopped for gas and rode to Pine Bluff with him. Tried to stay with a group one year and the group split into two or three sub-groups on some missed-turns. Was following a group one time and saw them coming the opposite direction a few minutes after I lost them at an earlier intersection. I just go to have fun. Always find an interesting story afterwards from the day. I think I'm clear to go that day but will decide for certain when I wake up that morning. Just was wondering if anyone had discussed it. |

Oh No...Mr Bill can't call Dyna a Poser anymore as he just bought a 2003 Wide Glide from a HD employee. Great ride, great price, great accessories. Now all I need is a "Doo Rag." Am keeping the X1 so I can still go out and play "Top Gun" with the guys, but I have the feeling that the Harley is going to get more use on a weekly basis. Gotta save the Buell for the competition and cruise the town & country on the HD. Oh well, at least I kept the money in the family. |

Some of the Waterloo group will be at the Crud Run, should be in Pine Bluff about noon. Ride to the edge! Dave |

Thanks Daves, I'll keep an eye open for you if I go and if I'm there around then. I usually try to hit Pine Bluff by 9am but sometimes run later. |

Very sweet bike Bill. Now all your disposable income & even some of the non disposable is going to go for even more shiny parts. |

Dyna...Yep, just a few, but the most important one is the luggage rack you gave me today. Got home tried out the T-Bags and am frothing at the mouth thinking of Tomahawk this weekend. Oh well, can't go again this year, but am ready to roll anyway. Sure hope the X1 isn't a basket case. Glad we got together to recap the symptoms of your catastrophic event last week. Seems mine has all the same symptoms and I don't flog the thing! Good thing I made the appointment to have the oil pump & gear plus the primary chain tensioner replaced August 4th when I ordered the saddle. Too bad the first available appointment was not until September 17th. These are the last of the failure prone parts per the BWB and X1 Files to be replaced in attempting to avoid a catastrophic failure. Oh well, at least I have another bike to ride now, just like the good old days back in SoCal. Only difference is I had a Yamaha Crotch Rocket and a Kawasaki Desert Sled and no problems. LOL Thanks again, and a special thanks to Bomber for talking me into ordering and replacing the oil pump at the same time as the drive gear. Only difference was cost of the part, labor was the same. With Hal's doing the work, I am confident the X1 will be back on the road soon. |
