The 990 with FI is miles ahead of the 1125 right now on low end response (still not as good as the 950 w/carbs). I suspect if you reduce the size of the throttle bodies and spend some time with the map that you could have a fantastic motor. According to the Cycle World article, the Barracuda 2 would have had smaller throttle bodies for better low-RPM response. Despite that, by adding titanium valves (allowing higher lift) and staggering the opening of the 2 intake valves (to promote swirl) the engine would have had more horsepower than the present 1125. Sounds like Erik is on the way to a plant which will be adaptable for ADV bike usage. |

If your 1125 falls short in the 2-4k range, get it fixed No need to "get it fixed". Just downshift two or three times, and it'll wake right up and smooth right out. |

From Erik Buell Racing on Facebook RE: 1190RS: "Well the season is almost over, but a few things left to do (before focusing 100% on the 1190RS street bike). Geoff is going to run the 1125RR at Road Atlanta in ten days or so so we can get a little bit of learning on set up for that track in advance of the 2011 season. And on the same weekend Erik is going over to Ge...rmany to watch and celebrate the Pegasusraceteam.com championship " |

T-man... "get it fixed" isn't a valid answer if you expect mags not to tear your bike apart in reviews. EXAMPLE: Ducati streetfighter, '08 Buell 1125, and owners of a KTM 990. They all had complaints and there are some aftermarket fixes...now. Ducati told owners to upgrade to the race muffs and ECM to fix that prolbem. My point is to have the issue fixed BEFORE production. Do you think you would have had access to Erik Buell Racing's ecm before the shutdown? Nope, sorry, you wouldn't. The bike isn't EPA compliant with that ECM either, so you won't see that ECM in new bikes. Asking someone to shell out $1200 (ducati) or $250 (Buell) to fix a fueling issue ON A NEW BIKE is obsurd. |

Might be "obsurd" butttttt you can't blame the company. They do what they need to do to make the bike legal, and push out the most performance and power that people want to see. So yeah if you want a bike that runs great out the box your not going to see the numbers you want. If you ask me I rather have a bike that can be fixed cheap to solve the fuel issue and have all the power I need. Then buy a bike with amazing low speed drive ability and then have to start dumping all kinda of money to get the power I want (oh and as everyone knows when you modd any type of motor to make more power you need to spend time and money anyways one FUELING) |

Kirb: Re-read my post. I wasn't the one who said 'get it fixed' I simply provided some information on how to fix it. And by the way - my low rpm was smooth before I got the E-B-R Ecm as a result of the other mods I mentioned. |
