i've read several threads about the clunk. after getting mine back from harley this past friday. i think mine has developed the clunk although i'd describe it more as a clank than a clunk. when going out of my drive into the street the bottom of the fairing kinds slaps the fairing stay. this however sounds a lot more like steel moving in aluminum to me. any pointers on how to approach or word this to them when i drop it off, again... |

iv noticed this on mine also, riding back from work today. almost sounds like the tripple tree has a crack somewhere and is making the sound when using the front brake and accelerating... |

> almost sounds like the tripple tree has a crack somewhere and is making the sound > when using the front brake and accelerating That's the steering head, and it's relatively common. Loosen the steering step and cap then tighten back to spec. I do it on my track bike probably twice a season. |

Make sure you loosen the pinch bolts on the lower triples when doing the retorque. |
