Nice picture. That is the first time I noticed how much more air they let in under the '08 air box cover. Here is a fresh one of mine.

As far as I know they didn't. Mine is an '08 but that airbox cover isn't the one that came with the bike. I bought it from someone on this forum and figured they cut that slit themselves. My original cover didn't have that. Hilarious picture by the way...lol |

Yeah it will be getting some head soon! I thought this thread might take off with close ups of all kinds of bikes. Just a part of it. Makes for cool pictures. |

'86 XL250. I didn't start it. I merely enlightened the crowd as to what it could become. |

That came out of my buddy's 97 Ultra. He let me take er for a spin while he went to the doctor. After a few miles it started making really bad noises!! I stopped for a while and started it again and it was quiet, until I passed a mommy mobile going over Fort Mountain!! I limped her back to Ellijay and told him he had some problems. I ended up trailering it home with me and rebuilding it. I did a top end job but didn't really find anything major wrong. I had an EV13 cam in the drawer and decided to up his torque a little and when I took it apart I found pieces all over!! The cam follower must have been case hardened and it wasn't very thick. It wiped the cam out too. Cleaned her up and put the new cam and tappets in at 72,000 and he just finished 109,000 on our last trip. He may join me at TWO at Buelltoberfest this year. Another gear head picture:

Some one sent this to me a while back. And I though the Uly was heavy in the dirt.

The heck with ruining that bike in mud. It's crying for supermoto tires. |
