Had an accident and my R has been in the shop since May 5th waiting on parts. Parts are finally all there including a frame and swingarm. Brought in new Hero Blue wheels, Blue double bubble, Blue pegs, Barkers, Rizomas, Erik Buell Racing ECM, XB lights, you name it for the rebuild that was started last week. Called yesterday to check in and I get UHHH dude HD stamped the wrong VIN on your frame. Its going to take another 2 weeks. How the F*^*^*^K do you screw up a VIN? Quality control not happening as of late? Another 2 weeks on top of the 20 weeks its been there. Past the whole summer and a planned ride to Sturgis. Now a WANKER from HD has to come and verify that a new VIN can be place over the old one after its milled off. Would would you do? Magic 8 Ball said kill everything with FIRE. |

Get some of your refueled colleagues to provide some "death from above"... Have you considered buying a parted out frame and swingarm and then selling those HD parts when they come in? Aren't you going to end up with a rebuild title anyway? |

Bike was not totaled. Really the old frame and swing are just fine with minor scratches. It was cheaper to buy a new frame and swingarm vs strip and repaint the entire old one so says local HD shop so thats what Foremost Ins went with. You cant do much with the old frame because the front end is supposed to be cut off. |

Kc, I feel your pain. I crashed my CR at the end of July. "Still waiting for parts". When (and if) they come in, then they say they can get the bike running to see what else is f'ed up. So who knows when I'll see my bike again?!? I can't stand the fact that I have to depend on H-D for parts. They simply don't care how long it takes. |
