Not to fear! What ever you have heard is probably true somewhere and at sometime past or present.
Looks like there will be a lay over BBB at my place again for the campers from the Great White North(or wherever). I sold my camper so it will be tent camping for everybody. We are doing this Thursday afternoon/evening. Riding to Suches Friday am, although I have to truck it in(maybe I can get Sandy to drive the truck so I can ride), I can lead ya'll down on a twisted fun trip. And it can happen for your return trip Sunday night also. Sure was a good time last year.
We are just East of Knoxville Tn. Send me a PM for more information.
Ugh. Banjo players.....you know you have met a real one when he, or she, can spit their tobacco juice through all three of their teeth without opening their mouth, but only a parting of the lips.

just remember, don't be scared when you hear the banjo music, be scared when it stops
banjo music??? I've seen Erik Buell and the Thunderbolts many times but they don't have no stinking banjo's in their bans! You guys need to get his band down there to show you how to really rock!
When I was in college, we used to lead group trips of students up into Pisgah national forest in August and in March. Carrying in all your cooking equipment and food for a ten day trip caused 'food stress' where some people would lose up to 20+ pounds.
We always had cheese grits. Cooked 'em up over the camp stove and then add the cheese in to melt it... good times for sure... I miss those days and am so looking forward to seeing some of my friends I shared them with...
Today, house cleaning and pre-pack... I think I got all the gear now and I am getting the heated gear specially wired in under the seat and air box cover next Friday... the following weekend will be going over the bike I hope for one last check...
Which reminds me... is there a grocery store within 30 minutes of TWO, or should I stock up on breakfast items and snacks before I head out that way?
Blk Uly- PM sent. I may be interested in taking that last slot in a TWO bunk...
Anyone else know of late opening slots for a real bed and stuff, let me know. I injured my leg/ankle a little over 2 weeks ago, healing slower than I'd expected by now- beginning to think that the work and relative lack of comfort involved in camping might not be good for this year's trip...
Whatever - Across the street from TWO is a gas station/convenience store. Wasn't a huge selection of stuff in there last time I checked, but it has the basics. The next town over is Blairsville, it is civilized and has plenty of stores.
Dahlonega is a lot closer, but yeah, there's supplies a plenty. Not Dale's is pretty sparse these days, and remember, they haven't any Premium gas either. A little beyond Turner's Corner is a gas station, also one in Morganton, both aren't too far away. I'm bringing some octane boost just in case. We're really looking forward to seein' y'all, ridin' and partyin' We're gonna have a good ol' time!
I hope I didn't offend any one with my comments and pics. Each to his own ect. Besides those are some good points like arriving fresh to ride and such. Got me thinking I'll show up all saddle sore and what not
Grits are FANTASTIC, and not just a Southern thing. Once met a guy from New England who put maple syrup on his grits. That's a travesty as the entire purpose of a grit is to get mass quantities of salt and butter to your tongue. Very similar to popcorn. They are all in the family.
Really looking forward to this trip. Been a while since I've been on a nice twisty road. Hoping to get there Thursday early in the day to get "camp" set up. Will be coming down with my brother in law. Bikes will be in the back of his truck. Looks to be about a 13 hour drive down.
I simply can't haul much more than a bottle of water on my bike. If Ann and I want to go camping, all the equipment and the bike go in the truck. It's the price I pay for the bike I ride.
13 for you? damn its 16+ for me! T.W.O. is an hour away if the traffics bad, I hit every red light, and the others I'm meeting are on time
Just about finished editing the ride video, I'll post it up tomorrow.
According to mapquest... Total Travel Estimate: 18 hours 9 minutes / 1087.64 miles
What do I win?
Im just razzing you guys. I could care less how you all get there, as long as we do. I really have considered riding the whole trip if the weather is nice but my tires are just less than 1/2. Too soon to replace but not really enough to round trip on.
Why no Frank and Lynn? We gots bikes for you two here in Maryland, ready to go!!
Maybe I should work on some sort of mount for the camera on the Uly, so I can ride and take pics at the same time. Unfortunately my little point-n-shoot doesn't have a remote shutter plug...and I don't want to strap the DSLR to the handlebars LOL
