Hey does anyone out there who does not have custom rear sets installed found an alternative foot pegs? I have size 12 boots and the stock pegs are way to short. I would rather have metal if possible but would settle for rubber. Also the stock pegs are not the greatest looking either. I would like to find an alternative until i can get the money to purchase custom rear sets. Cheers, totolandman |

Have you done a badweb search? You wont find much but the questions been asked a bunch of times. Rearsets are easy to make. Biggest cost is the shifter-about $100. The rest is cheap. |

Gearheaderiko, I have done an extensive search and no luck! If you know someone who will or can make a custom set of rear sets I would be seriously interested! totolandman |

Totolandman are you looking to keep the pegs in the same location ? There are several options as to where or how to mount a set of pegs. |

I have extra wide feet and the oem pegs are not long enough. The end of the pegs hit just a little over half way on my foot if I have them in a comfortable position. My feet feel like they are coming off them. I need pegs about 3/4- 1 longer. All I am looking for is some to go back in the same place, any ideas? Thanks |

http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/201 64/380572.html Thats all I get. Maybe you'll find more in a search. Unfortunately nothing I know off "bolts right on". Most that have different pegs also went to rearsets. I'm sure there are some that fit with a little work, but few have chosen that path. |

I just spent hours removing those freaking left foot peg supports to change trany fluid. Is there ANYTHING I can do to avoid having to do this again??? I am wiling to replace the brackets with rearsets or something but only if someone sells them pre-made - I am not a fabricator. Someone mentioned drilling through them to access the torx screws - any pics or other info on doing that? Thanks all - this has been one of the most frustrating things I have ever done. |

Yeah. Don't remove them. Just unscrew the nuts most of the way. Are you using a U-joint and a 6" extension on your ratchet? After you have done it 3 or 5 times, it becomes quite easy. I saw pictures of the drilled through holes once. You could try using a small wrench on a torx bit. |

http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/201 64/369170.html?1223067806 Should help - common mod for stock pegs. American Sport Bike sells the Crossroads rear-sets - they are a sponsor. EZ |

Thanks all. I used the U joint with a 10" extension - looked like what they had over on BCRider. Like a moron, I took the nuts all the way off - did not realized I could get the room I needed with just loosening them all. I will check out the link and American Sport Bike. Not certain I would like rear sets - I like the more standard sitting position on the Blast. One of the sets I found online for $460 indicated it moved the pegs back 10" - that seems like a lot. I might just suck it up and keep it stock and eventually get good at those nuts. |

First: If your y-frames are bent (they usually are) you'll have to unbolt them all the way anyway. Second and most important: Pulling the y-frames and clutch cover is unnecessary. Drain all the trans fluid when hot and refill through the vent tube. I guarantee it will take much less time (even though you need to use a small funnel) and it will be just as accurate a fill. If you're squeamish, measure the fluid you've drained out. And if you're using a 5 quart container, you'll need to measure out 1 quart to put back in. In the spirit of research I've done it both ways to test the accuracy! |

PS Since your oil filter was on so tight, you should have checked the oil filter mount to see if it was loose. It can happen, especially if the filter was overtightened. |

Sportster sets dont fit. There are limited places to mount any pegs on the front of the Blast. The easiest way I've come up with is to mount them to the case like rearsets except up front. Its the same basic set up, some parts lend themselves better to it. You'll need some extra long brake lines for the brake side and you'll probably need to fabricate your own metal rod for the shifter (not hard-blank metal rod and a die and you're done). Although the old style tuber shifter would work well. As with rear sets, the biggest PIA is making the plates that bolt on to the case. If you have a reason to take the primary and cam covers off, thats the easiest way to mark the holes. Otherwise its cardboard templates. Yes, I've put a lot of thought into this and you can make forward controls that would easily covert to rearsets too. Or you could just make it 'highway bars' and forget the linkage. Bolting a bar up the the front of the frame looks easy, but I think you'll fatigue the frame. (if you ever unbolt your engine, you'll see how much it flexes). Bolting a bar up to the front tie bar bolts is also possible, but if you drop your bike and/or break the boss off the engine case, you'll be in a world of trouble. Thats what I've come up with. |

PS With a set of just forward pegs (no controls), the brake pedal and shifter are easy enough to reach with your heel. |

Couldn't find another suitable place for this question, so I will jump on this old thread. Has anyone found any footpegs that will fit on the Blast, or is there anything specific to look for besides having the proper sized hole for mounting? I am looking to add some rear passenger pegs so I can carry a passenger but can't find ANYTHING that state is blast compatible, and all OEM blast pegs are really expensive. Anyone? |

I think knight Design made pegs for the Blast. It's the only place I know that did (or I remember "Knight" in the name). Contact them. https://www.ebay.com/itm/201549047787 |
