Recently my Blast taillight "winks out" randomly ... it comes and goes ... seems I can smack it (the tail light ... with my open hand .... I'd never be cruel to my Blast ) and it will come on ... then later my friend tells me I have no tail light. I've taken out the bulb and checked the contacts ... all seems clean and snug. Any specific things on a 2002 Blast that are common glitches here ??? Also ... the tail light is hardly adequate ... especially compared to my Goldwing (with SIX tail light bulbs) ... any simple fix for about 2-3 times as much light both for the tail light and the brake light ??? |

A winking taillight would come under things that can go wrong with any bike-not a Blast problem. I'd start at a bad bulb. There are LED set ups available as well as turning the signals into running lights. |

Definately LED - planning on adding the new Acerbis LED rear tail light and plate holder to my current set up - slick looking unit. EZ |

Cgent: Check the sub harness that goes from the relay to the rear light. Mine went bad earlier this year. I replaced it and have not had a recurrence re: back light going out. |

LOL - all of my LED lighting is in - the Acerbis fairing and tail section, and some smaller versions of the CR signals for the front and rear, and a special flasher that only cost 12 bucks with shipping - soon to change up the look a bit. EZ |

how much light can be added (watts) I was thinking of a pair of 35 watt driving lights matched front and rear with the rear bulbs red |

I dont have an accurate answer, but running twin headlights 55w & 100w H4's, often with an electric vest, and I havent had any problems (well, the headlight plug does get a little hot, but.....). |
