My bike is down and out right now so I'll have to come on four wheels but I'd like to meet up with everyone. I have to lock up after church in August so a later lunch would work better for me but don't let that be a deciding factor. A couple other trustees owe me favors so I could possibly get them to lock up for me. There's not much limitations on restaurants especially from a day ride from Ashland. Lex. is only what about 130 miles by way of the superslab? Looking forward to it. |

Thanks, sorry I forgot to reply to the earlier e-mail. I haven't even drained the oil in it. I was just disappointed it happened this close to the rebuild. I'm hoping it's something in or around the oil pump and dreading it's something in the bottom end requiring case splitting again. |

I will be at the rendezvous Sunday. My Cyclone is on line and the Weather Channel says it will only be 90. A severe thunderstorm will be the only thing to keep me away. We have been getting a few of them here and there this summer, some of them quite spectacular. KK |

Wow, talk about scheduling in advance I may even have the Buell up and running by then, if not there's always the Vulcan. I have to admit that I'm really, really liking it. My wife and I were just discussing the other night about how my first Shadow 500 used to take us everywhere two up and I thought I'd never need anything bigger than a 750. Then I saw the Buell. 1200 WOW, that's a monster and I'll NEVER need anything more than that. Well now it's 2053 and I'm through saying I'll never need more because I'd really like a Triumph Rocket III when I hit the lottery. Let us know when the dates are set. |

yeah one of the reasons why it is so advanced this time I pick my own dates. We'll have to do a Saturday or Sunday ride when I get down there go for lunch or something I won't make any Hotel reservations until after Jan. K |

Got a phone call from one of my buddies. He went to Barber Museum and Race Course near Birmingham AL for their annual vintage races and swap meet and said it was awesome. I had been there before to check out the museum and double header AMA SuperBike races. The museum itself is awesome and worth the trip. It's one of the best motorcycle collections in America. Mr. Barber shows off his collection there. I highly recommend it. We've decided to go next year weather permitting. It is quite late in the year. |

I feel like I need to post to keep us from going in the archives but there hasn't been any recent motorcycle activity at my house recently, except some do-dads I've added to the Vulcan 2000. When I left the house yesterday it was a whopping 7.2 degrees outside and is supposed to get colder the beginning of next week with a chance of snow. yippee |

I'm hunkered down in my new garage. I'm still working on infrastructure so I haven't got into any motorcycle work. First thing will be to reassemble my K100 Beemer. It's scheduled for an overdo full restoration. The Buell has developed a cough which I suspect to be either a leaky intake gasket or my HRS42 Mikuni has gone hinky and needs replacement or rebuild. |

Well, it's just the opposite today as it was last Thursday. This morning it was a bone chilling 2.7 degrees. It looks like we're in for a long cold winter. |

I've been piddling around in my garage on various projects since it's too cold to do anything else. We got my welding table moved into the shop. I think I'll just assemble my project bike on top of the table. I've also got another project which is a 91 H-D Sportster. I'm going to set it up as a streettracker with wire wheels. I was checking out Sportster flywheels. One came out on eBay but it doesn't have crank pin nuts. I seem to remember Harley doing away with the crankpin nuts and pressing the new cranks together. Does anyone know anything about this? |

Can't say for the sportsters but my X1 still has the nuts. Took me forever to get them off last time too. It's been a month since anyone has posted, I guess not much riding is going on huh? It's pouring rain here right now which I'm kinda glad for just to get the salt washed off the road. My X1 is still down and out, just can't get motivated to do much with it, need to get the fire started again because I really miss riding it. How's that street tracker going? |

I'm still collecting parts for it. I did a little research and apparently in 99 Harley did away with the crankpin nuts on everything. Now if your crank bearings go south you have to trash can the whole crank assembly and buy a new one. Or you can buy an S&S assembly for lots more money. They still have the crankpin nuts. We have only about one more month of winter. My Buells gas filter was leaking but I think I've got that fixed. I'm glad it finally rained good and hard. It'll wash most of the salt off the roads. |

One of my bros and I went to the Indiana Motorcycle Expo at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. This was the first time for us. It was a good bike show. It wasn't all Harley stuff which is the way we like it. Didn't see any Buells but we did see something that appeared to be a Mutant Buell Chopper knockoff [one of Redneck Engineering's competitors]. Whenever I see one of them I tell my buddies someone just ruined a perfectly good Buell. We recommend the Expo and plan to go back next year, weather permitting. There was snow on the ground in Indianapolis but the streets were clear. The show is on today and tomorrow so you can still go. (Message edited by kdkerr2 on February 26, 2011) |

I'm still here. I didn't read my Gmail for several days. My Buell is down. It keeps using oil and it's going into the outer primary and transmission so I think my engine main seal has gone bad and will need to be replaced. |

We're scattered all around the state. I rode up to Carrollton one year with one of my bros from Bloomfield KY on KY HWY 55 all the way to Carrollton. It was a pleasant ride. Kerwin Kerr of E'town |

hey that's cool. I think I went out 55 most of the way down to Taylorsville Lake a few weeks ago. That is a nice ride. How many people do you ride with? Wouldn't mind getting together with some people and heading out for a good ride on a Saturday or something! |

We could meet at the Taylorsville Lake Visitor Center, I reckon. It's a good central location. Indiana Motorcycle Expo in Indianapolis coming up, 24-26 Feb. at the State Fairgrounds. A bro and I went last year. It was a good show. |
