For the, ahem, younger members of the audience, here's the Mk I Mod 0 duHamel. He seems to have a certain je ne sais quoi that goes over well with the ladies. Kinda like you'n'me, huh, Bomber? r-t |

Yeah...but before you can be a curmudgeon you must complete the pundit course. Gads...and to think I, afflicted with Courtsheimes, in am the same half-century as Father Gess! By the way...talking about age. Has anyone ASKED DAVE GESS where he was at the 20th Buell Bash? Court (this is going to get GOOD) |

Dave Gess was sitting poolside in Wisconsin Dells on vacation. Because of my advancing age I was completly convinced I woudl be there because I HAD THE WRONG FREAKIN' WEEK! Even if I had been awake I could not have come as this family vacation thing is pretty much writ in stone. Dave |

Yeah, what's up with this truck thing? Here's Bomber and Court, a pair of dazzling urbanites living in Chicago and NYC respectively, driving around in pick'em up trucks, while oil field trash Road_Thing, a poor dumb geologist from Texas, tools around in a Caddy. That just ain't right! r-t |

It was my impression that a Cadillac is the only other acceptable (4 wheeled) form of transportation in Texas?

Caddy's seem to be in the minority these days. I see lots of SUV's and tons of 4WD pickups in Houston, mostly clean and unscratched, though--must not be bird hunters. Mostly Suburban Assault Vehicles. When I go to the country on weekends, the pickups get older, rustier and dirtier. Lots of rifle racks in the windows and rubber boots stuck in the gap between the cab & bed. I need to get some horns for the hood of my STS! r-t

Thang sir, I no longer live within the city limits under control of "Da Mare," which is, it would seem, a heriditary post (much like the presidency, these days) . . in fact, I live a little out in the toolies, with a 250 foot driveway that drifts pretty seriously in the winter, my lovely wife feels about gardening the way I feel about riding, and, as you can see in the picture above, I got a female offspring what needed moving to college (I also realized, at the end of the move, that the kids I saw moving is were better setup than my first four apartments after I left home . . . . .. . grin) CJ . . .. . if I lived in Tejas, I never woulda met you . . . .. . . |
